The next day had arrived. I was already up before sunrise. I took a few necessary things with me and left. I went to the nearest horse renting shelter and rented a horse for the day. I rode to the river Pip had mentioned. The river wasn't that wide, so I could easily animate the horse to jump over it. Phillip was already there, along with his Second. I got off the horse and bound it at a tree. I walked over tho them and put my hand on Pips shoulder.

"Nervous?"

"You have no idea. Hey, if I don't make it, please give this to Theodoisa."

He gave me a letter. The words on the front said: My Love. I had to shiver a bit. What if he would die? God help him. At this moment Eacker arrived.

"Do what your father told you." I whispered. I went away a bit and watched them. They started counting and Pip was aimind for the sky.

"One, two, three, four, five, six, seven-"

There was a loud bang and Phillip was about to fall. I ran to him right on time to catch him. Shit! I laid him down at the grass to get my horse. I heaved him on the back of the animal, before I got up there myself. I shot an angry look at Eacker, while pulling out a tissue from my pocket. On of my hands grabbed the reins, the other pressed the tissue on Phillips wound.

"F-Frances-"

"S-shut up, Pip. Save your stenght." Tears were streaming down my face and I could bearly see, where we were riding.  'Don't you dare die on me Phillip' I thought.  My dress got soaked with blood, so I animated the horse to go faster.
When we reached the nearest hospital, the doctors looked alarmed and took Phillip inside. I got off the horse, there was a big bloodstain on my dress, and rushed inside. A few minutes after me arrived Alexander and Eliza. When they saw me sitting there they asked where Phillip was. I pointed to a door, where the doctors went in with him. They ran there as fast as they could.
I sat there in silence, worrying if Pip would make it. If not, how would I break the news to Theo? How would she react? Would she learn to move on?
I tried to hold my tears back as Alex and Eliza came out the door, looking at the ground.

"D-did he make it?" Judging by their looks, I already knew the answer. Alexander shook his head. I ran to them and gave them a hug.

"I'm so sorry." I whispered.
