Diamond:
We had settled in a small farm cottage with Daisy's Mother and sisters we only had minimal contact with Ludith who had unfortunately never found Ardith. He stayed close to the kingdoms to see if he could find them and wrote to us about what had been happening, Rodricks men took over the kingdom and Rodrick was unfortunately alive.. My mother had been made a prisoner under Rodricks new reign of terror and Jade's Mother had apparently agreed to a union for both kingdoms under the condition that Rodrick made her in charge of the lower subjects. As much as I wanted to write back to Ludith more, it was just far too risky with Rodrick still searching for us. Thankfully Ludith had gone to great lengths to protect and write to us. Jade had told me about the elixer and we rode to the Witches to see if they had answers to any possible unforeseen side effects but they were gone.
Jade and I were in the pig pin feeding them old bread and corn. Jade came up behind me and kissed me on the cheek.
"Hello my love," I say holding her arms around me.
"I'm so happy to be here with you," She says placing her chin in the crook of my shoulder.
"Is that so?.. Even without the titles and being Jews of the kingdom" I tease. She laughs and before she can answer we hear running and giggling.
"Sean! Get back here!" Calls Daisy's mother. We then see a little Sean hugging both of our legs. Me and Dimond laugh as She picks him up in her arms and he laughs.
"Sean.... You're are supposed to be in schooling young man" I stay in a playful tone.
"I was..... But then I missed my Mommy..." He said trying to play innocent.
"Hey, what about your other Mommy" Said Jade as she began to tickle him.
"I'm sorry Diamond and Jade he got away from me the little rascal" Teased Mrs Smith.
"That's quite alright Miss Smith, How about we have a picnic then" I suggested while taking Sean and spinning him in my arms.
"I'll get a basket for you dears, Daisy and Lenora will meet you with it in the fields" Said Ms smith as she walked back to the house shaking her head in amusement. I love my son so much, I never told him about his Father but I did tell him that Jade and I are here to give him as much love as possible in this world. He never questioned having two Moms but then again he's only known of life on this little farm. Since Miss Smith's Husband died from the plague it was just us women on the farm.
We settled in a field near the house Jade and Sean were playing and dancing around. I was so thankful she had been there for me with Sean and treated him as her own son. I could tell Jade was getting a bit winded, she hadn't fully been herself after the Elixir had worn off.
"Sean come here" I call to him. He obeyed and let Jade rest for a moment. I take Sean in my arms in my lap and we both smile at Jade. This moment of happiness I wish I could capture forever...
"Sean!" called Lenora, they were about the same age and often played together... He looks at me and I nod in approval. He then scampers towards the house to find her...
I smile at Jade who looks at me with those same eyes of Lust and awe. I wonder how I had gotten so lucky to be with such an incredible woman...
Suddenly I hear a swish of wind an arrow goes flying from the tree line straight into Jades' heart.
"JADE!" I cry out. She looks down at the arrow and back at me before stumbling backward and onto the ground.
I scramble to reach her but when I do she is lying still eyes frosted over.
"Jade," I say trying to jolt her away to no avail. Tears start to form in my eyes as I let out a gut-wrenching cry.
I heard another blood-curdling scream coming from the house... Sean, I thought I turned to Jade who was still not moving.
"I will come back for you," I say through tears as I press one last kiss to her forehead. I get on my feet and race back to the house as fast as my legs can carry me. The house looked ransacked with all the doors open I saw a small fleet of horses fleeing with Sean on one of the horses with a guard, Rodricks Guard!
"Sean!" I call out and try to chase them.
"MOMMY!" he cries. I am stopped by a guard and dragged into the house. I see a bloodied and bruised Ludith on the flood tied up with a few guards and Rodrick at the center of it all.. I glance around to see Daisy and Lenora crying in the corner with Miss Smith laid out on the floor. She's slumped over facing the wall with blood on her clothing. I turn to Rodrick who is covered in scars. and erupts with anger when he sets his gaze on me.
"YOU!" he snarls. The guard pushes me onto the floor. Rodrick yanks my hair to pull my face up meeting his gaze.
"YOU! Your little wench took something from me!" He spat forcing my hand on his groin. I cry and try desperately to remove it but his grip is more stronger and colder than before. He pulls my ear to his mouth to whisper in my ear.
"They call me Rodrick the scared, Rodrick the ruined! I cannot produce another heir... But luckily it seems that boy of ours will do just fine" He hissed. He let go of my hand and looked me close in the eyes.
"The only reason I spare you is to know that your son will grow up in my kingdom as my heir and he will forget all about you... If you ever try to come for him I will not hesitate to spill his blood.. How soon do you think it will take him to provide me with another heir hmmm? Or maybe I will keep him prisoner just like your mother!" He says before throwing me to the ground. The rest of the guards clear out before he stops at the door.
"But do not think me so cruel... I shall have him journal and send you the copy of his resentment for you that will grow over the years" He smirks.
"Whe- Where is Ardith you pig" Ludith spits out through blood. Rodrick turns toward him...
"Ardith... Never heard of him but I will have the guard put out a bounty for his head in the kingdom of Rodricks" He laughs as he exits the house.
I hurry over to Ludith who is in bad shape.
"Where is Jade" asks Daisy as she sinks next to me. I cannot bring myself to say anything... Daisy signs in pain as she calls for Lenora.
"Get Edna and Sara from the cellar, Diamond help me tend to Ludith and then we will collect the bodies," She says sniffling back tears.
I obeyed her and we were able to nurse Ludith's wounds. He stayed in bed as we instructed Lenora and Sara to look after him and began cleaning the house. It took all three of us to move Miss Smith out back. We needed to collect Jade before we took them both to the family plot.
I didn't know where to begin to wrap my head around what had just happened. My family was gone in a span of one afternoon and my son would be subjected to Rodricks Cruelty. The sun was going down and I was utterly exhausted. We had reached the field and I had told Daisy and Edie where she was.. I needed a moment before I-
"Diamond" called Edie
"Come Quickly," she said.
I ran over to see what they were staring down at. When I arrived I saw nothing?! Just an arrow... No blood but bent grass where Jade had fallen and a single arrow. Where was she?
