The next day after school everyone was hanging out at the diner. Kathy was sitting in the booth behind her sister and her friends doing homework while they were all gossiping. Music was playing and she felt at peace. Today was good. Marty sat with her again at lunch, and despite Lorraine's teasing she did admit that she was enjoying her time with him. Not enough to have a crush on him, but enough for the teasing to not affect her as much.
"Kathyrn." A voice gains her attention, making her look up to see George McFly standing at the end of her table. "My density has brought me to you." he says rather nervously.
She gives him a soft smile, "What?"
George glances at the small notepad he was reading from, "Oh, uh.. W-what I ment..." he stutters out.
"Wait, you're George McFly. We have science together right?" she asks, making him calm down a bit.
He nods, "That's right. And I'm your destiny." he says with a bit more confidence giving her a crooked smile.
Her smile widens and she leans on her hand, "Is that right?" she was about to ask him to join her, when a voice shouts from across the diner causing the music to scratch an stop.
"Hey, McFly! I thought I told you never to come in here. Well, it's gonna cost you. How much money you got on you?" Biff says as he enters the diner making George become all nervous and anxious again as he looks towards his bully.
"Well, how much you want, Biff?" he says, fumbling to put his notepad away and trying to find his wallet.
Kathy felt bad seeing Biff be so mean to George. And felt annoyed that he was ruining a sweet talk she was having with him. "George, you don't have to-" she tries to whisper but stops when Biff falls flat on his face.
Biff quickly stands and turns towards the bar where Marty stood. "Alright punk you-" but was cut short.
"Whoa, whoa, Biff, what's that?" Marty says, pointing to something over his shoulder. Biff looks and Marty took that time to run for it, past the goons and out the diner.
Lorraine leans over the booth to her sister and grabs her arm, "It's Calvin Klien! Isn't he a dream?" she says with a wide smile as she watches him run out the window.
"I noticed." she says to her sister, removing her arm before looking at George who looks a bit sad. "George, you wanna join me? I'm just doing homework but it's no bother." she says to him.
"Oh, i-it's alright. I'll let you get back to it." George says dismissively, his nerves coming back.
"I really don't mind. I can use a break anyways." she insists, giving him another smile.
"A-alright." he agrees, moving to sit across from her. The two completely ignore the chase happening between Biff and Marty.
"You missed school today." she brings up, remembering Marty bringing it up at lunch.
"Oh- uh I didn't sleep well so I missed my alarm." he half lied, remembering to not bring up Darth Vader and the brain melting.
"Huh. Well, you didn't miss anything interesting in science." she says before biting the inside of her cheek, "So, you were talking about Destiny?"
"What?" George asks confused before remembering his notepad, "Oh! R-right, uh." he fumbles, trying to get his notepad out of his pocket again.
"Kathy come on! Calvin escaped Biff!" Lorraine says grabbing her sister's arm and pulling her out of the booth, leaving no room for argument or apologies to George.
Getting dragged outside amongst the crowd, Kathy sees the aftermath of the chase. Biff and his goons sat in his car covered in manure. Marty was giving a kid back a board with wheels as everyone watched in disbelief at what had just happened. "Where does he come from?" a random girl asks.
"Yeah, where does he live?" Betty questions, and Lorraine looks at her determined.
"I don't know. But we're gonna find out." she says, glancing at her sister.

"Lorraine, I don't think we should be doing this." Kathy says as they walk down a street.
"We are going to find Calvin, and you are going to ask him to the dance." she says with a pep in her step.
"What? Why? I-I don't even want to go to the dance." Kathy says, shaking her head.
"KittyKat," she pauses, grabbing one of her sisters shoulders. "I will not sit by and let you not get a cute romance you deserve. Calvin likes you. He stood up for you. He sits with you at lunch in silence. What boy does this? He's nervous around you, and he's new so he probably doesn't even know about the dance so you have to ask him." she tells her.
Lorraine hooks her arm with that of her sisters, "I-I guess you have a point." Kathy says as they continue walking.
"I know I do. Oh, Look!" Lorraine says speeding up as they see the door to a garage close, "Did you see him?"
"No." Kathy says confused as she tries to keep up.
"Okay, knock on the door." her sister instructs as they stop.
"What? Why don't you knock?" she argues.
"Because you're asking him to the dance, not me. Now knock." She instructs again.
Kathy groans lightly but listens and knocks on the door. The curtain on the door moves slightly then after a moment the door opens revealing Marty and an older man behind him. "Hi Marty."
"Hi Kathy. How did you know I was here?" Marty questions as he lets her in followed by Lorraine. "Oh, hi Lorraine." his eyes widening a bit more.
"Hi, uh it's my fault. I suggested we follow you." Lorraine takes the blame.
"Oh, uh, this is my Doc, Uncle, Brown." Marty explains to them.
"Hi." the two girls say to the older man who was leaning on something covered in a tarp watching them.
"Hello." he says to them with a small wave.
Kathy looks back at her sister who gives her a look and she sighs before looking back at Marty, "So, I know this might be a uh, bit forward. But I figured since you're new you might not know. But would you go with me to the Enchantment Under the Sea Dance this Saturday?" she asks.
Marty's eyes widened in surprise, "Y-You mean no one's asked you?" he questions, looking over his shoulder to Doc in a bit of a panic.
"No... Not yet. But I figured, we could go... together?" she says a bit unsure.
"What about George?" Marty asks as he realizes his plan didn't work.
"Oh George McFly?" she questions, a blush spreading across her cheeks. "Oh, no h-he didn't ask me. I-I'm mean he's cute and all, and if he did ask... I-I guess I would have agreed but, he didn't... and now I'm asking you." she rambles a bit nervous now since he wasn't saying yes or no.
"Besides I think she should be with a man who's strong, so he could stand up for himself, and protect the woman he loves. Don't you?" Lorraine cuts in, lightly shoving her sister forward to be closer to Marty.
Marty looks between the two sisters realizing that this was his aunt's plan, "Yeah..." he says slowly.
"So, You'll go with the dance with her?" Lorraine pushes.
Marty swallows thickly, "Sure." he says with a voice crack and a nod.
