Here we go

---------

Though sounds cheeky as hell, Alex is barely alive without Henry.

During the whole students' union meeting, he spaces out and lets the words pass his brain without processing. Until Nora pokes him with her Apple Pencil a bit too harshly, Alex finally comes back into the room, grunting an inaudible sorry.

He walks on the road but can't let any sound of the environment in even if he's not wearing headphones. He becomes a zombie, as Nora puts it, after saving him from being hit by a car the second time that week.

He looks at his laptop in class but that blonde boy keeps making its way back to his brain. His fingers hover on the keyboard but can't manage out a word.

Alex feels like someone is messing up with his mind. All the fragments and thoughts from the past month tangle and melt together, stuffing his brain. Am I gay? Am I bi? Do I like Henry? Why did he kiss me? Why did he leave all of a sudden that night when I was on the phone? What happened? So does he like me? Should I go find him? What if I'm straight? What if he says no? Wait, do I plan to ask him out? But can we still preserve our friendship if it turns out bad? Can we still be roommates? WHAT SHOULD I DO?!

Out of instinct, he clicks on the text page of him and Henry. All the bubbles are on the right side (reply pls, need to talk, when will u b back), while the left side is blank.

Alex scrolls up for the millionth time that day, stupidly hoping that something will come out on the left side when he "refreshes" the page, hoping everything is just a technical issue.

The sudden buzz of his phone startles him. He sits straight immediately and clicks on the notification with shaky hands.

Nora: , disappo-

He's back. Alex bolts out.

When Alex makes it to the library within eight minutes, heavily panting, sweat dropping, Nora and June are already waiting in front of the door, claiming that they're going to oversee the situation.

Alex gives them a side-glare suspiciously, but follows Percy's direction anyway.

Percy stops in front of a door with a sign that says "Classic Literature". "Henry has been in there for a while now. He's quiet since he came back, or, since he left without any word I guess." He pats Alex's back encouragingly. "I have faith in you."

Without thinking anymore, he pushes open the door.

This room is much more quiet compared to the reading rooms and study halls. It is hot inside, air is steamy filled with the smell of ink and paper. Alex can hear his own pants and heartbeat that he tries to ignore. He walks past the walls of shelves, scanning with the corner of his eyes.

As he almost gets to the end of the room, feeling hopeless, that familiar blonde appears in his eyesight. All the tangling suffocating ideas in his mind suddenly vanish, leaving behind the only thought: to continue that day's business, shove Henry against the wall and kiss him hard.

And he carries out his plan.

When Henry notices Alex approaching like a hunter seeing their prey, he freezes, still holding onto the hardcover Great Expectation.

"Alex, I know my-"

"Shut up. Stop talking." Alex hisses, not giving Henry the chance to explain.

He cups Henry's face and seals their lips. Henry's squeal is muffled between the kiss. Alex feels the tense body of Henry and he is not kissing back.
