Queen Lyzandra sat by her window, the soft morning light casting a serene glow over her room.

She was lost in thought, her mind occupied with the affairs of the kingdom, when the sound of the door opening brought her back to the present.

A servant entered, accompanied by a royal guard whose expression was grim and resolute.

"Your Majesty," the servant began, bowing respectfully.

"This guard has an urgent message from King Eirian."

The queen's brow furrowed in concern as she looked at the guard.

"What is it?" she asked, her voice calm but laced with worry.

The guard stepped forward, his armor clinking softly.

"Your Majesty, by order of King Eirian, I am to accompany you for your safety."

Queen Lyzandra's heart skipped a beat.

"Why? What has happened?"

The guard hesitated for a moment before speaking.

"The palace is currently under investigation. One of the royal guards was found brutally murdered in the hallway early this morning."

Queen Lyzandra gasped, her hand flying to her mouth.

"Murdered? Here, in the palace?"

"Yes, Your Majesty," the guard confirmed. "The king has ordered increased security for all members of the royal family."

"What about Prince Lyxander?" the queen asked urgently, her maternal instincts overriding all else.

"Is he safe?"

The guard nodded reassuringly.

"Prince Lyxander is safe, Your Majesty. He is currently under the protection of one of our most capable guards, Rhys Shaw."

Queen Lyzandra let out a sigh of relief, though her worry for her son still gnawed at her.

"Thank you for informing me. Please, ensure that nothing happens to my son."

"Of course, Your Majesty," the guard said with a respectful bow.

"King Eirian has also instructed that you remain in your chambers for the time being, under guard, until the investigation is concluded."

Queen Lyzandra nodded, understanding the necessity but feeling the weight of the situation pressing down on her.

"Very well. Please keep me informed of any developments."

"Yes, Your Majesty," the guard replied, taking his position by the door.

As the servant and guard settled into their duties, Queen Lyzandra returned to her seat by the window, her thoughts now consumed by the shocking news.
