Adria was in her room with Ember bracing herself for all the socializing in her aunt's so called 'big event'. It was her responsibility as the only heir to her father's multinational business which her aunt was taking care of, for now. In a few months she should start as an intern in order to take over the business. But did she care about these insignificant rules? No. Her aunt demanded her to make an appearance to the party and introduce herself to everyone. Poor Adria had to choose between attending the party or never go out again. Though she didn't care about going out, she had to, she needed to find something about her mother. So here she was, getting ready for the event.

She wore a beautiful red gown which flared down and had an elegant deep V neckline. It hugged her body in all the ways. She simply complemented her dress with a gold necklace and light makeup.

"Wow girl!! The curves are curving in that dress of yours!!" Ember said looking at her.

"Shut up, Ember!!" Adria said with a faint of a smile.

With that, they entered the Hall where everyone was chattering with a glass of champagne, wine and cocktails. One minute in there was enough to cause a migraine. But she had to try, right? Just as she was going to get herself a champagne, she saw Ven walk out from some room. Was she already drunk? She squinted her eyes a little bit to be sure that she wasn't mistaken. But it was really him! She walked towards him to interrogate.

"What are you doing here?" She asked frowning out of confusion.

"Oh!! Adria! I was just here because my dad couldn't make it. But I didn't know you would be here!" He said, genuinely surprised.

He was here for a mission. A half zombie and half demon had escaped from the demon world and he was taking care of it. He didn't know Adria would be there.

"What do you mean? It is my aunt's event." She said tilting her head in disbelief.

"Oh! So Ms. Turner is your aunt?"

"Ya..." Adria trailed off when she finally saw Ven's full appearance. It took a moment for Adria to comprehend his gorgeous figure wearing a black suit with midnight blue tie. The way he stood there with his hands in his pockets and one eyebrow raised was oddly really hot. You could see this man worked out even through the thin buttonup shirt he wore under his blazer. But she composed herself and continued with a rather stoic expression, "it is and I have to go welcome the guests."

"Oh ok." He said smiling. And that small gesture made her heart do the things it does whenever his mouth stretches and reveals his cute dimples. Neither of them knew about the impact he had on her. But, nonetheless, she left with the same stoic expression on her face defying her raising heartbeat.

It had been a while since their encounter and despite knowing the fact that his mission was finished an hour ago, he stayed. Though he stayed, he definitely did not stand in the corner, sipping a glass of wine and staring deadly at the boy who was talking to Adria. Even if he was, it wasn't like his heart burned when he saw Adria smiling a little too much while talking to the guy. And he surely didn't want to sweep her out of that conversation because he knew she didn't like chatting too much. But however, he did walk towards them and said, "can I steal her for a minute?", with a murderous glare.

"Umm yeah!" The guy said frightened like a lost puppy.

"Thank you." Ven said with a sly smile and swayed her away.

"What are you doing!?" Adria asked, annoyed but was glad he did that.

"Be glad that I saved you!!" He said to which she rolled her eyes with a faint smile.
