Escape From: The Mayor

I wasn't ready for this at all. These people were already done with half of the training for the final day which is just a week away and I am not even done half of it. I had a lot to catch up on and I was the only one staying behind an extra hour training with Collin just so I could catch up. I mean, it's not like I will be doing this shit again. Not like I will ever use a gun. Or even hold one till I am old enough. I wish I could just never got out of my room. And Amelia training with us was way more suspicious. Like the rest of the time she was not there and now suddenly she is back into our lives like she is very interested to kill the mayor and get out of this shithole.

So the whole week I didn't even try training. I was so pissed off at everyone because they let Amelia's in without any suspicion which is stupid of them. Wait till they get to know how is the real traitor. I stomped out of Zoey's room where we had practice and went back to my room. The others were already there since training hours were already over and I was having the extra training. Every evening, I came back late, at dinner late while they all were getting ready to sleep and while everyone is sleeping I am panicking to get some sleep.

The next few weeks I continued this and started going at my normal timings. But I hadn't seen Collin anywhere either so nobody really stopped me. The last session was taken by Amelia and she didn't tell me to stay back for practice so I guess she is not that and. Wait, I was thinking of where is Collin. Right back to that. I should visit his room today. Maybe he is there? After we were done with our training, I was going to leave with the others and my mood was actually pretty bright and I was happy. So while I was cracking some jokes, I slipped out of the crowd and took the emergency stairs to his floor and to his room. I knocked on his door before I could go in despite knowing the fact that I can just go in without knocking since he doesn't like answering the door if it's me.

I was imagining to see Collin all well and fine and all normal and just taking a break form training or something would be his reason but instead, when the door opens, I see Collin's hair all messed up and he had eye bags under his eyes and his eyes were swelled up.

"Collin?? What's wrong? Why are you like this?" I asked him, worrying.

"Laura. Hi. Come in." He said in a montounous tone.

Strange. Collin sounded so off and so not like him. Either ways, I followed dhim inside and he made me sit on the couch. The same couch where we shared our first kiss. Thinking about it brings me butterflies. I see Collin sitting beside me and leans on my shoulder.

"Not ready to tell me?" I ask him hoping for him to say yes.

Collin shakes his head in response.

"Do you want to watch something on the tv?" I aks him instead so I don't pressure him.

Collin nodded and I turned on his tv and put on a show which I hoped Collin would like. I put on a show which was comedy so he couldn't feel sad or whatever he was feeling and it could brighten up his mood. And some time later into the show, he was laughing hard and I was laughing too.

"So Laura, I guess I could tell you." He said suddenly popping up in between of our laughs.

I sprang up form my seat at the sudden mention and paused the show and had all my ears for him. He explained how his father called him and he was going to pick him up form here and take him back home. It took me a osme time to understand about why was he sad about that when it hit me that he wanted to be with us and didn't want to leave us. I started to laugh at him and he pouted at me.

"Collin! We are either way gonna leave next week!" I say barely through my laughs.

Collin looked like a bombshell has been dropped on him as he realises and started laughing too and I joined him. As we were laughing, my stomach grumbled as a sign that I need to eat dinner after the training and Collin must have heard it too because he went up to the kitchen to cook some food for both of us.

So teh thing with Collin was solved and he was coming back to training. Everyone took it as Collin was sick but actually it was not that but we kept it in between of us. And that made the last week of spending our time at the Mayor's place come to an end. So we all had our weapons ready, and we were in our places, standing and waiting patiently for Zoey's signal to start the plan.

"Ok team safety, evacuation can start. Team attack, protect team safety from the robots attacks and keep the coast clear for them. Let the escape begin." Zoey speaks through her earpiece and I listen carefully.

This is the least I have written and I am really sorry 😭 

I wrote this while I had a writer's block so that's why it's bad. I promise the next chapter is going to be good. 😭
