a hiccup escaped wooyoung's lips.
he hoped he hadn't been as loud as he thought, but the expression on san's face at the moment gave him the answer he needed.
san's amused smile only widened, exposing the dimples on his cheeks that lovestruck high-schoolers would die to even catch a glimpse of. wooyoung didn't know what to say— partly because his mouth felt drier than a desert at the moment, and partly because... what was he supposed to say to someone he'd only noticed from a distance?
of course, the two of them were popular, but they were each the kinds of popular that didn't clash with each other. san was the handsome, athletic and smart golden boy. people never hesitated to approach him and gush; it was different for wooyoung.
wooyoung was the stereotypical music guy with a pretty face. since he was an idol trainee, it was a given that people admired him as well, but more often than not, it was the do-it-from-a-distance kind of affection. and wooyoung wasn't sure he liked that, no matter how much he valued his personal space.
of course, on any regular day, these thoughts would instantly occur to wooyoung upon bumping into choi san. considering how incapacitated he was at the moment, all he could think was... had choi san always been this handsome?
a small, almost charming laugh escaped san's lips.
"are you drunk?"
wooyoung didn't reply. he tilted his head like a confused puppy, eyes struggling to follow as san slung his bag off his shoulders, letting it fall to the ground. he sat himself down on the edge of the bench, right next to wooyoung's burning head.
"are idol trainees allowed to be this reckless?" san asked in what wooyoung hoped was a playful tone. leaning forward, elbows on knees, hands clasped and a strangely grounding smile... choi san looked like he was having great fun. "haven't you seen what happens to debuted idols when their past comes out?"
wooyoung let out a whine, further heightening san's surprise. he already knew that waking up the next morning would be one hell of a reality check.
"it was a mistake!" he cried his words out like he was on a guillotine. "sober wooyoung would never do something like this!"
san pondered over the statement, and yet again, wooyoung hoped the skepticism on his face was simply playful demeanor. choi san had a knack for that; everyone knew.
"and you should worry about your own reputation!" wooyoung continued to bite until choi san loosened those furrowed eyebrows of his. "aren't you the one who got suspended after announcing the principal's affair over the broadcast speaker?!"
unfortunately, wooyoung's words weren't the daggers he'd hoped they'd been.
"that wasn't me," san crossed his arms. "that was seonghwa." he looked almost offended for a moment before looking away and ahead at the open space of the gymnasium. before wooyoung could scurry to apologise, a cheeky smirk tugged at san's lips.
