"do we really have to go this far?" yeonjin sighed, aggressively kicking another pebble on the sidewalk as if she was preparing to actually beat someone up.
san wouldn't have been surprised if she did; his main concern was whether the person she was going to smash into a pulp was him or seonghwa. it was half past eight, and the sun had just set. the pavements were moderately occupied by people walking or simply talking to one another. at this hour, most restaurants and cafes that lit up the street had life in them.
san was back in his pyjamas because he was convinced that 24 hours would not be enough to persuade yeonjin that they needed seonghwa's help.
but here she was, exactly one day later, hesitantly walking alongside san, her destination being seonghwa's house. she was apparently willing to give up a significant portion of her self-esteem in order to help wooyoung.
"i don't feel great about this either, but we don't have many options right now, do we?" hana pointed out, and san nodded in agreement.
"exactly," he stretched his tired arms out wide, "consider it a blessing that we have someone with connections like him by our side."
"by our side my ass," yeonjin scoffed. "don't you guys remember the things he said back then?" her upper lip twitched at the thought of it. "i fucking hate that scumbag."
he knew yeonjin had every right to be angry, and in all honesty, he too was upset by seonghwa's words when the scandal broke. however, yeonjin's anger overpowered him and became uncontrollable due to her affection for her best friend, hana. of course, seeing a normally composed girl raise her voice with a face covered in tears would direct all of your rage towards the source.
in every way, it was an admirable dynamic. yeonjin was bitter, logical and unkind. she only let her walls down when she was with hana, and now, she'd gained a soft spot for wooyoung as well. hana on the other hand was calm and optimistic. in any case, when either of them became angry, it was enough to wreak havoc on an entire nation. that explains why people are generally cautious around the two girls.
"anyways, we're putting all our trust in you, san." hana narrowed her eyes at him, making an intimidating gesture that made san slightly back up. she returned to her original position of mindlessly strolling with her hands clasped behind her back. "you're his closest friend, so you have the best chance of convincing him."
"you think this guy's going to be of any help to us?" yeonjin laughed as she pointed up at san. her index finger dramatically went all the way down to his outfit. "he's literally wearing super mario sweatpants."
"it's actually luigi, but you wouldn't know that because you were born in the 19th century," san retorted, sticking his tongue out at her, internally proud of himself for the shameless comment.
"i'm only five years older than you, you rat," she sarcastically smiled, shoving her right hand in his face, all five fingers extended. san responded by pulling another face at her, knowing what was coming.
