on sunday morning, wooyoung's legs guided him to melody haven for god knows what reason.
maybe it was the quietude and warmth of the place that he found himself drawn to, or maybe it was because sitting idle at home was making his body go sore. maybe it was the lack of customers, save for maybe the one or two people that walked in per hour. whatever the cause for this sudden change in routine was, wooyoung was still there either way, laying comfortably against the bean bag as he browsed through a random magazine.
"you're free all day and you seriously decided to be awake at fucking eleven in the morning, willingly," yeonjin shook her head, trudging past him with a stack of records in hand. seemingly, gloomy yeonjin was a regular sight, especially in the mornings. she did not enjoy the mornings. either way, she had managed to muster enough energy that day to at least put some effort into looking presentable.
her jet black hair, streaked with navy blue, was tied half-up, and she wore a loosely knit black sweater that was tucked into jeans with colourful patches all over them. her sense of fashion was odd to say the least, but it somehow worked in her favour.
the sound of her footsteps and the jingle from the multiple bracelets on her left wrist broke wooyoung out of his daydreaming, and he dropped the magazine on his lap, tipping his head back.
"i have nothing to do at home," he responded monotonously.
yeonjin glanced over at him, raising an eyebrow. "nothing? not even a netflix binge or a nap?"
wooyoung shrugged. "done all that. twice."
"then you know what you should do?" she suddenly emerged from the shelves, one hand plastered on her hip as she stared down at wooyoung. "you should help me with my work around here!"
wooyoung skeptically stared at the joyous expression on her face. "so you're trying to profit off of my boredom, is that it?" he questioned with a raised eyebrow.
"i guess you can say that." her smile only deepened. did she have no shame upon being called out on her behaviour, or what?
"so is that a yes?" she beamed, huddling what appeared to be books in her hand.
"no. it's a no."
instead of whining or clicking her tongue, yeonjin simply shrugged. "well, i tried. suit yourself then." and with that, she was out of wooyoung's sight— not before dropping a stack of magazines on the table in front of him, of course.
wooyoung awkwardly stared at the books, unsure of what to say. it was nice of yeonjin to try and keep him occupied like this, but when had she caught onto wooyoung, who'd completed the same magazine almost thrice already?
he simply tossed aside the book in his hand, picking up another one from the stack. as he flipped through the pages, wooyoung couldn't help but wonder how bored he would've been if he hadn't run into jongho again.
