Charles was going to meet this Manford man. Manny. Manford Tylor. Okay, he took a deep breath to stay calm. His body was vibrating.
They pulled up the address and Charles was shocked that it was a house. He was expecting a business or a high rise or something but not a house.
Angus sighed. "I should warn you that I was warned by a friend that this Manford Tylor... he is an agoraphobe. He hasn't left his house in years.... Maybe ever. No one seems to know the story."
Charles was shocked. "He sounded so normal on the phone!" He never met anyone with behavioral problems, psychological or otherwise. He lived a very charmed life until now. His father was the first person he ever knew that was even sick. He couldn't comprehend losing his dad.
Angus nodded. "Let's go. Shall we?"
Charles nodded and followed his father to the house. It was amazing and very modern. The front of the house was angular and mostly windows.
There was a man standing in the doorway with a smile. His blond hair was cute and styled perfectly on his head. His blue eyes sparkled with excitement.
He wasn't wearing a suit. He had on a nice pair of jeans and a nice tight button up shirt. He looked amazing and Charles noticed.
"Come on in!" The man motioned for them to enter.
Angus was first as Charles followed. "Hello. We are meeting with Manford Tylor?"
The man chuckled at their confusion. "I'm Manny." He knew that Angus was older and he knew that Chuck was younger. "You must be Angus Carter and that means you are Chuck!" He smiled at Charles as Angus apologized and shook his hand.
Manny held his hand out for Charles to shake it. "Hello." He smiled at Charles.
Charles blushed a bright red for no reason. "Hi!" His voice squeaked out. Oops. He cleared his throat. "Hi and it's Charles."
"There's that beautiful voice I heard on the phone with a face to match!" Manny smiled at Charles. Chuck Carter was gorgeous and young. Mmm. Just how Manny liked his lovers. Trainable. He giggled with excitement, internally.
Chuck had dark hair and pretty brown eyes. His smile was beautiful and that voice was delicious. Mmm. His hair was a little long but pretty and wavy. Manny wanted to touch it but he wouldn't, just yet. Soon. Soon, he would touch that hair.
The meeting took place in the living room with the gorgeous large windows. This house was almost all windows.
Charles smiled. "If you can't leave, bring the outside in!" He smiled at Manny.
"Exactly! You like?" Manny was hopeful. So, Chuck didn't have issues with his condition.
Charles nodded as he looked around. "I love it! I love all the plants!"
Manny smiled. "Me too! I love gardening."
The meeting had derailed into passions and hobbies. Charles didn't have a hobby and Angus played along. He played golf. Manny never played and had no interest. It would require him to go outside.
"So, why should we have this merger? What are my incentives?" Manny asked. He wasn't taking on a company without all of the information.
Angus sighed. "Well, I am...sick. I need to find someone to take over my company until my son can take it over. I need..."
"A guardian?" Manny looked excited.
Angus nodded. "Yes! I need someone that I know isn't going to harm my legacy or sell it for money. I don't trust huge moguls because they don't understand how hard we had to work to get here!" Angus started his business at a young age with almost nothing.
"I wasn't raised with a lot. I was poor and I know what it is to struggle. It's the reason I make sure people can afford my products." Angus sighed. "I just want to protect my son's future."
"Our business isn't run by board members and stock prices. I run it with customers in mind. I love to please them." He continued. "And I want to make sure that this happens long after I'm gone. So, I'm searching for the right predecessor to look after the customers and my son."
Manny smiled. "I understand that. I have been studying your company since Chuck called last week. I would like to protect the company." He paused. "I would like to protect your son's future as well. I assure you." He turned to Charles. "So, what do you think, Chuck?"
"It's Charles." Charles glared at Manny. "I think you could benefit."
Manny smiled. "I do too. But let me have my lawyers look this over and... give me the week? Stay and get to know the town. Tour the office and the factory. It's where you will be moving, after all."
Angus nodded. "Okay. But I have things to do back home. I will leave Charles in charge of this. He can get to know the town and you. Since you will be working together closely."
Manny nodded. "If we have a strong relationship then the company will also."
Angus chuckled. "Exactly. I have doctors appointments to get back to. I'll send the car back here. I'm guessing that you can make arrangements, Charles?"
Charles nodded. "I am capable. Yes. Are you sure?" He worried about his dad.
"Positive. This is where your future lies. Get to know it. Okay. Send me reports on the progress." Angus hugged his son and left him there. They had details to work out.
