CH 7. Misty

" Look at me.. I'm as helpless as a kitten up a tree"

Y/N's POV

"Take care of her Jay." Cyn looks him dead in the eyes as he nods. Did something happen? this interaction feels off. She leans up to whisper something to him, I didn't hear what she said however i caught one word 'whipped' i think not sure. By the looks of it jay is immediately disagreeing. "Lets go Love" He says before grabbing my hand leading me to the nurses office.

As he leads me down the hallway towards the nurses office I turn to look at the notice board. One flyer caught my attention 'School camp' sounds interesting. "Why wont you tell me what happend" Jay questioned, snapping me out of my daze at the notice board. "I already told you it was just an accident on my behalf." I said stoically, Jay turning to look down at me by his side with concern.

"Whatever you say Y/N" he scoffs mad that I was lying to him. "just drop it!" I shouted annoyed, he looked at me wide eyed before becoming silent. We didn't talk on the way to the nurses office, just an awkward silence.

As we walked in we noticed the nurse not in the room, "sit." he ordered as he went to a set of draws holding bandages. I sat quietly on one of the beds before looking over at him, "How do you know where everything is?" I ask almost as a whisper, it was still so awkward from the little argument in the hall.

"Basketball practice. Niki is surprisingly clumsy, like a new born giraffe" He says with a small chuckle at the end, I followed giggling at the comment on Niki. He stood up walking towards me with gauze, "Gotta stop the bleeding, here take this and pinch ur nose shut." He instructs handing me the gauze.

I grabbed it from his hands and used it to pinch my nose shut and began ti breathe out of my mouth. "lean forward doll." he says going to stand on the other side of the bed before moving his hands onto my waist to adjust my position so i was leaning forward. However after moving me his hands never left my waist, they stayed put as he rubbed circles on my skin just above my hips. "You owe me for taking care of you" he chuckled as I muttered a small "sure i owe you"

Next thing we know the school nurse is walking into the room. "Whats going on here" she asks suspiciously with one of her eyebrows perked up. "Nothing nurse Kim" Jay says before standing up taking his hands away from my waist and standing straight. "mhm sure" She said unconvinced before continuing "Wanna tell me what happend." She said waiting for an answer.

"Oh I uh walked into a mirror in the girls bathroom." I said quickly hoping she wouldn't see through my lie. "You told me you we're washing your face and bumped your head into the mirror" He spoke with confusion clear in his voice and face staring at me. Shit he knows I'm lying. "Not that big of a difference" I reply looking at him before turning back to the nurse.

"Anyways Jay stopped the bleeding so.. am i good to go?" I ask Nurse Kim with my eyes big and pleading. She sighed before nodding her head "yeah go on" shooing us out of her office. When we step out we hear the bell ring telling us we have our next class. "I'll see you at second lunch?" Jay asks with a small smile on his face, "Can't wait" I said smiling back at him. Neither of us had moved to get to our classes although we both knew we needed to get there.

"Jay!" I hear a perky voice pulling my focus off of Jay. Turning behind me I see the very girl whom I hate, Elle. "Hey Jay! we have the same class why don't you walk me" She said standing close to him and looking up batting her chunky mascara eyelashes and piercing blue eyes at him.

"Oh um.." he said looking at me before looking back at her. "Sure I guess." He agreed causing her to squeal loudly making him jump and look at me scared. "Lets go Jaybae!" she said latching herself onto him like a fucking leech and leading him away. "See ya Y/N" Jay turned back to look at me waving goodbye before Elle yanks him to keep up with her.

I hate that girl.

I begin walking to my next class, my eyed glued to the floor. I didn't realise someone was in front of me and ended up bumping into them with a shocked noise. Looking up my eyes meet Felixs, I try to walk away as Elles words of staying away from him played in my head but he grabs my wrist, "Where you going cutie? cmon we got the same class we can walk together" He says with a smirk on his face. God how can i not accept.

I hesitantly agree and we begin walking side by side. I feel a hand slip into my own not even a second later as Felixs fingers tangle with mine. He holds my hand as we walk to out next class. What am doing this is so bad, Elle is gonna get pissed. but part of me wanted her to get angry and show her I wasn't afraid of her.

That was a bad idea.
