The buzzing and burning had become therapeutic from the first moment the tattoo gun touched my skin. Even in those last thirty minutes that feel like absolute hell, I come back, eager for more. Eager for a bigger piece.
Currently, Fiona is working over my right thigh on a huge bouquet of flowers in light pastel colors. She's almost done, and every time she wipes with that mother fucking towel, my whole body almost comes out of the chair. But holy shitake, is it worth it.
I first came to Fiona not long after Diesel had told me about her, and we started small with a shoulder piece. I've come back every three months or so for more. Will I ever stop? Who knows. My back is empty, so I've got room.
Fiona is a stone-cold lady. She gives off major fuck off vibes, but I kind of love her for it. It must run in the family to be very serious and closed off, but over time they all loosen up. She's tall like her brothers but instead of their dark features, she has platinum blonde hair down her back. It's hard to not stare at her, not necessarily for her beauty, but her regality. She commands attention even though she may not want it.
Diesel and Rogue are her biggest supporters though and it's so cute. Like now, they both are in here just watching and grunting their approval. From them, that's like a standing ovation.
"Damn, Fiona, you just get better and better, babe." Scarlet compliments, which earns her a small smile, that makes me smile. I close my eyes, clenching hard through every swipe she makes. But then she wipes, and my body twitches helplessly.
The longest thirty minutes of my life.
When she finally finishes, she cleans it up and the relief the water brings immediately makes me forget all the pain I just went through, and I sit up get my first look at it finished. The side of my leg from the top of my hip to my knee is covered in roses and peonies in light purples and pinks with green vined throughout with light touches of blue and yellow. It looks so incredibly real. This has taken two six-hour sessions, and I will wear it with pride for the rest of my life.
"I'm not even surprised Fiona, but it looks amazing." She nods as she takes some pictures and applies the second skin.
"Thanks, Oz. You're my favorite customer. Mainly cause you sit there and stay quiet," she quirks her mouth up, making me laugh. I make my way off the table and over to a mirror and keep admiring her work while everyone talks. I don't catch much of what they're saying until Fiona mentions the concert this weekend.
"You're going to that?" Rogue grunts.
"Yeah, it may not seem like it, but I like to get out sometimes, big brother. This will fill my quota for a year."
"Who's going?" If he's not careful, he'll go full caveman.
"The other artists from here, that's it. They invited me weeks ago."
"Who's concert? How many people?" Scarlet and I sneak a peek at each other while Diesel and Rogue be the perfect overprotective big brothers.
Scarlet and I have managed to still stay anonymous. Our following and streams have only kept growing, and we were shocked when an event company reached out to inquire about a tour. We didn't really have an official album, so doing a concert tour never crossed our minds. But this Friday, after six months of planning, we will be performing for the first time.
The only person who knows that we're Velvet Cherry is Diesel. A bunch of guys were watching some of our videos at the clubhouse over a year ago and he figured it out.
