Bob carefully placed Jack-Jack on the grass of the backyard, as Vinson, Dash, and (Y/n) looked on with anticipation.
"Ready? Laser eyes," Bob instructed.
Jack-Jack's eyes glowed as he activated his laser vision.
"Stop," Bob commanded, and Jack-Jack's eyes dimmed.
The onlookers cheered. "Wow!"
"Look at him go!" (Y/n) exclaimed.
"Yeah, baby!"
Bob smiled. "And that's not all. Watch this." He lifted Jack-Jack up and held him like a toy gun. "Alright, Jack-Jack. Blaster ready? Pew, pew, pew, pew, pew." Each "pew" was accompanied by a burst of laser beams from Jack-Jack's eyes.
"No way!" Dash exclaimed, wide-eyed.
Vinson and Dash began to argue over who would get to fire Jack-Jack across the lawn.
"Hey, I'm just demonstrating. No firing the baby around the house, okay? This is potentially dangerous." Bob's tone was firm, though his eyes twinkled with amusement.
The group laughed.
"And we're trying to teach him to control his powers, alright?" Bob added.
A beeping noise interrupted the moment. Bob pointed to the device in Vinson's hands. "Stop, see the screen?" As he spoke, Jack-Jack suddenly vanished.
"Where did he go?" (Y/n) wondered aloud.
They all hurried inside, where Bob demonstrated how to use the device to track Jack-Jack across different dimensions. Soon, they spotted him and Jack-Jack reappeared on a rock. Dash quickly offered him a cookie, and everyone cheered.
While Dash, Vinson, and (Y/n) continued to play with Jack-Jack, Bob heard an urgent alarm. He rushed to his office and opened a hidden compartment, revealing two phones: one with his insignia and one with Helen's.
Bob's phone rang, and he answered, his face turning serious. "Hello?"
"Elastigirl's in trouble," Evelyn's voice crackled through the speaker.
"What? What happened to her?" Bob's voice was edged with panic.
"I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news over the phone. Meet me on our ship at DevTech," Evelyn instructed.
"The ship at DevTech. I'll be there in fifteen minutes," Bob promised, his tone resolute.
He ended the call and immediately dialed another number.
"Lucius? It's Bob. Helen's in trouble. I need someone to watch the kids. Suit up. It might get weird."
"I'll be there. ASAP. Fifteen minutes tops," Lucius replied, urgency in his voice.
Bob hung up and pressed a button on a remote. A hidden compartment slid open, revealing his red super-suit. He swiftly changed into it, the suit fitting snugly as he prepared for action.
As he bolted past the kids, his super-suit gleaming, he called out, "I gotta go. I'll be home soon. Lucius will be here sooner. No firing the baby around the house, okay?"
"What's going on at the ship at DevTech?" Vinson asked, looking concerned. "And why are you in your super suit?!"
Dash, meanwhile, had slipped into Bob's room and quickly opened a drawer, pulling out the remote to the Incredibile. He concealed it behind his back as Vinson and (Y/n) entered the room, their curiosity piqued. Vinson opened another drawer and pulled out all their other super suits.
"Is that mom's super suit?" Dash asked.
"She may need it. You never know." Vinson said.
"What's going on?" (Y/n) asked, her brow furrowed in concern.
