Bob stirred awake on the couch, his shoes scattered haphazardly on the floor. He blinked groggily and noticed Dash sitting nearby, munching on a bowl of cereal.
The room was filled with a comforting sense of normalcy. Bob's gaze shifted as Vinson entered with (Y/n) following behind him, a cup of coffee in her hand. Vinson was walking closely beside her, their hands brushing occasionally in a way that seemed both natural and tender.
"We thought it was best to let you sleep," Vinson said, smiling warmly as he exchanged a glance with (Y/n). He lightly touched her back, guiding her toward Bob.
Bob stretched and grinned. "Seventeen hours, huh? I feel... super."
His eyes wandered to Vinson and (Y/n), noting their close proximity. "So, I assume everything is good between you two again?"
"Yeah, we're good," (Y/n) replied, looking up at Vinson with a smile that spoke volumes. Vinson responded with a nod and kept his arm around her, gently moving her closer to him.
.
"I can't tell you how much I appreciate you watching Jack-Jack for me, E," Bob said as he followed Edna and Jack-Jack down the hall.
Jack-Jack, clad in a red outfit, happily sucked on a large swirly lollipop, moving in sync with Edna, who carried a playful expression.
"Yes, I'm sure your gratitude is quite inexpressible. Don't ask me to do it again, darling. My rates are far too high," Edna quipped with a mischievous glint in her eye.
Bob blinked in surprise. "Oh, uh..."
"I'm joking, Robert. I enjoyed the assignment. He is bright, and I am stimulating. We deserve each other," Edna continued, casting a fond glance at Jack-Jack, who seemed to roll his eyes in response to her playful comment.
"Your child is a polymorph. Like all babies, he has enormous potential. It is not unknown for supers to have more than one power when young, but this little one has many."
Jack-Jack gave Edna a look that seemed to say, "Oh, stop," and continued to suck contentedly on his lollipop.
Edna picked up Jack-Jack and approached a door with a high-tech security panel. She punched in a code, and Jack-Jack performed a hand scan, an eye scan, and a voice identifier to gain access.
As they entered Edna's workroom, Bob followed closely, his curiosity piqued. The room was filled with an array of technological marvels, but Edna led them to a room with a glass wall.
"I understand your lack of sleep and coherency, Robert. Babies can be anything, and your child is no exception. He has pure, unlimited potential," Edna said, opening the door to reveal a high-tech chamber.
"He slept while I worked in a creative fever. Auntie Edna stayed up all night making sure you look fabulous in your many forms," she added, placing Jack-Jack inside the chamber before stepping out.
"What are you... You're putting him in the...?" Bob's voice trailed off, a mix of confusion and concern in his tone.
"In the chamber, Robert. He is part of the demonstration and will be fine," Edna assured him with a confident smile.
Bob watched as the chamber door slid closed. "Your challenge is to manage a baby who has multiple powers and no control over them, yes?"
"Huh. That sums it up," Bob agreed, still processing the situation.
Edna nodded, turning to the console. "I often work to music, and I noticed the baby responds to it as well. Specifically, Mozart."
She played a piece by Mozart, and Jack-Jack began to bounce in rhythm to the music. Edna handed Bob a device with a display outlining Jack-Jack's movements. As Bob studied the device, his eyes widened in shock.
