A breeze shuffled through the woods as Hallowstorm padded on through the light snow that covered the ground. It ruffled his golden fur and he felt powerful and stronger than ever. The tom turned back to look at Dawnpaw, who padded onwards with a bright smile on her face and a soft flick of her tail. She was such a fragile kit. The way she padded ahead and looked into the woods showed just how innocent the little kit was. You would have never guessed by her size that she was once a sick kit found  dying in a meadow. In fact, all the kittypets who had joined moons ago looked like they had always lived in the clans. Dawnpaw was especially skilled in everything she did.

The young she had been trained by Risenspirit who was indeed a strong warrior, but he was a clueless cat who did not know his left paw from his right. He would never understand Hallowstorm, who would understand him? Even the useless she-maggot he took on as his mate did not understand his longing for power and greatness. Sunnyside was his sister, and she, too was clueless. The she cat always had been the 'better' of the two cats.

Thinking about her again made Hallowstorm angry, yet the tom kept walking forwards. He had already set plans in place, and having Dawnpaw sense his anger would only alert her. He changed his direction slightly east as the kit followed.

"Hallowstorm, where are we going?" Dawnpaw asked.

"We are going to continue our hunt back by the hills, alright?" He responded.

The two kept walking until they reached the clearing where Hallowstorm stopped and turned back to Dawnpaw. "Alright now show me your crouch again."

"We just did this." Dawnpaw said, but lowered herself into the crouch and began to advance forward.

"You know, you show many strengths above your brother." Hallowstrom said.

"You know, Hallowstorm, I think my brother is having a hard time training with you." Dawnpaw meowed.

Hallowstrom had to hold back laughter. Soaringpaw deserved to learn nothing from him. "Soaringpaw is not trying hard enough then."

"I just wish he would learn more." Dawnpaw said with a slight sigh.

The wind picked up for a moment, blowing some of the snow off the ground. "I wish you were more quiet." He sort of snapped it, as if his temper had been set off at that point. Hallowstorm watched as Dawnpaw got out of her crouch and stood up. Once the wind died down Hallowstrom sighed. "I mean, lets not worry about that now, yes?" He flicked his tail north. "Hey Dawnpaw I just saw a rabbit run through those bushes back there. Why don't you catch up to it and bring something home for you and I to share."

"Alright!" Dawnpaw said, she raced across the clearing and Hallowstorm followed right at her heels. She broke through the bushes and stopped dead before a deep slope down and a horrific fall. She gasped and took a single step back. "That was close!" The apprentice meowed as her heart raced. "Risenspirit says we should never go back this far. Minnowfoot fell down this slope and broke both his legs, we should back up a bit."

"That was close, to close for comfort." Hallowstorm agreed.

Just then with a flick Hallow lifted his paw and shoved Dawnpaw as hard as he could. Dawnpaw lost balance of her feet and slipped forward, her paws trying to grip onto the loose soil at the edge of the cliff. She gasped as she tried to get her front paws back onto the hard ground. Her back paws brought up the soil and in one moment she flipped her body around as she fell about five inches. She then jammed her claws for both her front and back into the soil on the cliffs steep slope. Hallowstrom watched the she-cat struggle for a moment before walking to the edge of the cliff. Dawnpaw's brown eyes showed her innocent and scared self as she hung on for dear life.

"Hallowstrom....please!" She pleaded as she clung to the edge.

Hallowstrom laughed and stared down at the red pelted she-maggot. "Please Dawnpaw. For I have already almost finished the job." He gave an evil grin and stuck his paw down the slope and got ready to remove her claws from the soil.

Dawnpaws eyes turned a bit from fear to anger. "You will pay for your sins to your ancestors. You will burn in the dark forest for this Hallowstorm."

"I don't plan on meeting them anyway." The tom meowed. "It's such a shame you could not stick around to teach your brother all I won't."

"You will never get away with this." She hissed.

"I don't plan on ever stopping so indeed I will princess." With that Hallowstorm dug his claws into her small paws. She cried out and tears streamed her face and he pulled his claws out and watched as the she-maggot began to fall, she did not scream, just closed her eyes and let it happen. "Rest in piecies, scum." He hissed and watched as she hit the ground, her bones cracking, blood oozing from under her, blending into her red pelt. Her body lay completely still and the forest was quiet, as if they mourned over her death.

"Job well done."
