If someone told Sakura Haruno ten years ago she would be travelling the world together with Sasuke Uchiha some day, she would have never even dreamt of believing that.

Ever since she was young, Sakura has been in love with the mysterious Uchiha, even though he hasn't returned her affection at all. Instead, her and all of his other fangirls were constantly dismissed and neglected.

Upon being assigned to the same team as Sasuke, the pinkette was determined to get closer to him. To make him like her. He's managed to cause her heart to race many times during that time, making her feel special and important to him. Her heart felt full and warm, as if nothing could ever stop that blissful feeling.

But that all came to a halt one lonely night.

Despite her desperate attempts, her pleas and begs, Sakura wasn't able to keep Sasuke from leaving. The young Uchiha was consumed by darkness and vengeance, having lost sight of anything but his one goal.

His departure had not only initiated many hard years for his former teammates, but had also put an end to Sakura's delusions about a carefree and happy romance. The heart which had been so light and determined once has been overcome by terror and grief quickly.

Her love for him, however, never faltered. It fuelled her desire to get stronger for him, to get him back with all it took. And each time Sakura saw Sasuke, no matter the circumstances, it was like she fell in love with him all over again.

Blinded by the lust for power and strength, the Uchiha had successfully managed to suppress his overwhelming feelings for good. Sasuke built walls around himself, vowing to never let them be broken down again.

Nonetheless, a first crack was inflicted upon them during his time being confined in another dimension. It was thanks to Sakura that he managed to escape that dreadful place, all thanks to her and her alone.

When he saw her in the far distance, looking at him through the portal with her determined emerald eyes, Sasuke felt a tug on his heartstrings. She looked exhausted, yet she kept going. For him. And it felt like she was guiding him through the darkness... like a warm sun.

His walls were beginning to shatter once more after his fight with his best friend, Naruto Uzumaki. Not only was he able to knock some sense into him, but he also managed to give him a good push towards the right path.

Sakura's tears, however, were the means to keep him there. Despite everything, she cried for him. She healed him without hesitation, never gave up on him, wanted to be by his side. Sasuke felt like the world was crashing down on him in that moment, but he didn't feel sorry for himself. Only for her... for Sakura.

Sasuke left for his journey of atonement once the wounds the war had left began to patch up. Feeling the need to find his true self, train and see the world, the Uchiha was forced to leave behind his sun. But not without promising her to take her with him the next time.

Three long years passed, and Sasuke hasn't tried to rebuild his walls even once. He's learned much during the time he was travelling; many things about communicating and staying true to oneself. And even though he felt really... calm, his heart missed her warmth deeply.

After returning to the Hidden Leaf, Sasuke was almost desperate. The winter outside had started to get to him, but it didn't compare to the storm raging in his cold heart. However, it all went silent once he laid his eyes on her for the first time since forever.

That was when he promised himself. He vowed to never hurt her again, to always cherish and protect her at all times. She was always thinking of him, and even at his lowest, Sasuke managed to push through because of the love he was subconsciously storing inside of him.
