The months had passed in a speed that felt almost impossible. One moment, Sasuke and Sakura were exchanging rings beneath a sky lit with the most glorious glow of sun, and the next, nine months had nearly slipped through their fingers. Time seemed to flow differently now - marked not by days or seasons, but by the subtle, steady growth of Sakura's belly.
Not only was their pregnancy an incredible surprise for the young couple, but it was also the greatest blessing there ever was. With extra care and love, they stepped through the world together, feeling more excited than ever to meet their little wonder, their world.
It was a significant change to Sakura's daily life. After carrying their child for the first few weeks, she started to go through her - already very limited - wardrobe at an unbelievably fast pace, her belly growing larger with each passing day. She made sure to keep track of her eating and drinking behaviour, as well as to never forget to give the baby gentle rubs.
Sasuke was head-over-heels already. He grew even more protective than before, and refused to let go of his wife for even a second. He was amazed by the human body, impressed and in awe about the fact that there was a literal human being growing in Sakura's belly right now. It was a large step for them, but Sasuke was more than willing to take it. It was always one of his desires to rebuild the Uchiha-Clan, which caused him to feel a little emotional at times.
Her husband, after finding out that she was pregnant, urged Sakura to end their journey. Sasuke was so terrified of the thought of something bad happening to their child, and knowing that Sakura couldn't protect herself with her full-strength was bugging him as well. His wife, however, had no intention of agreeing with him. She insisted on continuing their travels, at least until their baby would be born.
Thus, Sasuke and Sakura resumed their journey, focusing on exploring small villages at a rather slow pace instead of jumping from large one to the next. They wanted to take it easy, to make sure that both Sakura and the baby were feeling comfortable. Right now, after going through a variety of exotic and fantastic villages, they were back in the Land of Fire.

Walking through the thriving, familiar forest of the Land of Fire, Sasuke and Sakura felt like they were home already. The pinkette's belly was large and round now, and their baby could decide to be on its way at any moment now. Henceforth, her husband urged her to slowly start returning to the Hidden Leaf, wanting to be there in time for the birth of their little one.
The sun was slowly starting to hide behind a humongous cloud, and it was sure to rain soon now. Sasuke glanced over at his wife, placing his hand over the curve of her belly, gazing at it lovingly. She smiled at the tender gesture, happily placing her delicate hand over his rougher one as they started to wait for a kick.
Sasuke gasped softly when he felt a tiny movement against his palm, his dark eyes sparkling with love for their unborn child. Sakura giggled at his excitement, squeezing his hand gently as she spoke in a tender tone, "our little one has been so active lately, dear." Just a few days after their wedding, Sakura accidentally used that nickname on her husband - she was really flustered and apologised immediately, but Sasuke felt really proud of that name. He reassured her, wanting to encourage her to keep calling him that.
"You mean 'she' has been active," the ravenhead mumbled instantly, smiling faintly as he kept staring at his wife's belly. Sakura laughed, "you're so sure of it! What will you do if it's a boy, hm?" They looked at eachother, so much affection shimmering in the depths of their eyes. Sasuke shook his head, speaking in a confident tone, "I don't care what it is, Sakura.
But it's definitely a girl, I can feel it."
Suddenly, a quiet thunder echoed through the trees and bushes of the forest, and Sasuke felt a raindrop fall onto his nose. His protective instincts kicked in immediately, and he grabbed his wife's hand urgently and firmly, yet gently and lovingly as well. He dragged her towards a small cave, making sure that she was keeping up with him at all times.
