The vampires and the Doctor

chapter 11- it all becomes reality

[ Present day 2024]

Third person's POV

It was a rainy day, like any other day in London, dreary dark and moody, to bring down anyone's mood on a day like this, which was a Tuesday, the start of the week and mostly busy but not for Natalie James and Raymond James, Maisie's parents, who were doing their usual morning routine, Raymond making breakfast for the couple while the other half Natalie opens the mail. 

Natalie's pov

I sat going through our morning mail, as a normal routine entails every day, just junk mail, the usual when I saw an Old letter on parchment paper, 'Mr and Mrs James' with our address, I opened it.....

'Dear Mr and Mrs James

I am a friend of your daughter Maisie James, whom you have not seen in some time, she has been travelling with myself, sorry...Introduction, my name is the doctor, a very good friend to Maisie, we have been friends for a while and been travelling for quite some time too, which had turned into much more for the both of us, we got into a relationship and had a child together, now you may be thinking why I am using the past tense in this situation, it is because we are both stuck in the past, 1890's and we cannot get home, as my mode of transport isn't working anymore.

I know this looks mysterious for 2024 but it is accurate, and I have some unfortunate news that might shock you, your daughter Maisie James....is dead, she died giving birth to your granddaughter Jane, and you can fact check this on google, as we are from the past and it will be correct.'

I stopped reading and checked google, and he was right....our daughter died from child birth, I continued reading...

' I am so sorry for your loss Mrs James, I know how much Maisie meant to you as a daughter, but she meant so much to me as well, being her boyfriend and father to our child, I am so sorry

the doctor'

I sat there in shock, our little girl....dead, from giving birth, I sobbed, "Nat?" Raymond called, rushing into the front room, he hugged me, "S-She's gone Ray" I said, "whose gone?" he asked, "M-Maisie...she's dead" I said, he looked at me, "she's dead?" he asked, I nodded, "How?" he asked me, "Childbirth, she has a child....our granddaughter...." I said, he grabbed the letter and quickly read it.

I sat shaking, how could of this happened, my little girl dead, in the 1890's with no way back, "1890's?" he asked me, I nodded, I pointed to the laptop, he looked at it, and it did indeed say that Maisie had died, "who is this doctor anyways?" he asked me, "her boyfriend, he loved her Ray, he is the father to her baby" I said.

he sat typing, "wait....1890's....old letter....weird writing....vampires" I said, "No....he couldn't have possibly taken her to 1890's, with vampires," Ray said, I huffed, "she did love them, look at when the twilight movies came out, she was infatuated with them, she wouldn't stop talking about them for weeks and vampire diaries, she loved that as well....saying that I did watch that with her" I said.

Ray nodded, "She doesn't even have a grave, or anything, we can't even go talk to her remains" he said, I nodded solemnly....

The doctor's pov

I had to go see them, I had to talk to her parents, "Isn't the tardis not working now?" The master asked me, "I have no clue, i've not been out to check in 5 months" I said, he nodded, he handed me the key, "it was in her jacket" he said, I nodded, "at least she kept an eye on the key for me" I said, we nodded, we got outside, the sun blinding us, "JACKETS!" Lenora shouted throwing them to us, we put them on and left for the tardis, I opened the door...

she burst to life, "Hi old girl" I said smiling, she groaned, "Yes, I know he's here but he's my friend now, he won't hurt you" I said, she groaned again, "She's....dead" I said, she went mad, "Hey, it's okay, were all a little mad ourselves at the moment, but her parents...I need to go see them, please?" I asked her, she groaned, "you stay here, okay?" I asked the master, he nodded, "Let me know how it goes, call me" he said grabbing the phone, I nodded, he left and ran back inside.

I breathed, I left....

Ray's pov

I sat down on the sofa crying, I held a photo of her close to me, the door knocked, Natalie got it, "hello...I'm the doctor...the one who sent the letter" he said, "Sorry about my husband, he's still breaking his heart, I'm so sorry for your loss doctor" she said, I wiped my tears and put the photo on the coffee table.

I huffed, "So, you're our daughter's boyfriend?" I asked pulling myself together, he nodded, "Yes, I'm the doctor, and I know it's hard to comprehend me looking a little weird, but...I'm a vampire" he said, I nodded, "we figured that out, seeing the letter had come from 134 years ago" Natalie said, He nodded scratching his neck, "would you like a drink, I'm sorry we don't have blood..." she said, "A tea is fine" he said.

she left, I cleared my throat, "you don't have to fear me, you know, I'm not one of those evil vampires, I'm actually kind, seeing I used to travel in time" he said, I nodded, "that's what that weird noise was....you're time travelling machine" I said, he nodded.

The doctor's pov

I saw a photo of Maisie, I grabbed it, "it must be recent for you then" he said, I nodded, "two weeks ago" I said, I saw her smile, frozen in time, my love, "you have a child?" Natalie asked coming into the room, "Yes, her name is Jane, very twilight, that's our Maisie" I said, "you should have brought her" He said, "it wouldn't have been the right time, now...I came here....because I knew you'd want to see her, but as you know I'm a vampire" I said breaking it to them gently,  it hit them.

Rage hit his face, "YOU TURNED OUR LITTLE GIRL!" he said grabbing me by the scruff of my collar, "Ray let go, please!!" her mum said, "it was her choice, she wanted that, she loved me enough to trust me, please Raymond I didn't hurt Maisie, I loved her so much, just like you do, she was never in any danger" I said, he let me go, "take us to see her....please...." her mum said, "Are you sure?" I asked.

they nodded, they locked up and we left....

Renfields Pov

I sat next to her bed, holding Jane, "Look at how beautiful this little girl is Maise, she looks just like you, we will take care of her" I said, I laid her next to Maisie's body, "there you go little one, cuddles with mommy" I said, I heard the tardis, the doctor was back, I got downstairs, I saw two people with him, "renfield....THE RENFIELD?" the woman said, "Sorry Ren, this is Maisie's mum and dad, Raymond and Natalie, Raymond, Natalie, this is Renfield" he said.

The doctor's pov

I smiled, "And who is this little one?" Natalie asked, "this is my daughter Jane" I said, Renfield passed her to me, "Hey sweetie," I said, "She looks so much like Maisie....now where is she" Raymond asked, "I'll show you" Renfield said, they left, Lenora snuck out, "it's going to be a shock to them" she whispered, I nodded, "I couldn't not let them see their only child, besides, they've only just found out she's dead too" I said.

she nodded, Jane cried, I rocked her, "it's okay sweetie, I know" I said, "I can hold her, you go up" Lenora said, I shook my head, "they need their time alone..."

Natalie's pov

we got to their room, "can you please wait outside Renfield" Raymond asked, he nodded, "of course" he said, we opened the door and there she was peaceful, on the bed, we stepped inside, I sat by her bed, "careful" he said, "she's dead Raymond, what is there to be careful about? her biting our necks off? her mad that were here?" I asked him, "She's a vampire Natalie, all of them are vampires" he scoffed.

I huffed, "Just leave it will you, we are here for our little girl who has just died so will you give her some respect?" I asked him, he nodded, "right, yeah, Sorry honey, it's just so hard seeing you laying there, because we expect you to sit up and laugh and are happy that we are here, but that won't ever happen, the doctor seems like a good guy, he must have made you very happy and your daughter looks so much like you" Raymond said.

I nodded, I held her hand, "She's so cold" I said, I pulled the duvet cover over her and we laid with her, "there now, Mum and dad are here" I said....
