finally off of work, hayeon walked into her apartment to find jiwon jumping up and down like an excited cat. she was bouncing so high she looked like she had springs inside her shoes.
it was finally the day of the concert, or festival, or whatever it was that jiwon was dragging hayeon and sohee to. jiwon had not been able to shut up about how excited she was to go, and hayeon had to admit that she had been looking forward to it as well.
although she hadn't exactly been talking much to sunghoon, she still cared about him and his friends and knew how much they loved performing. watching them on stage for the first time was a big deal to her.
after arriving at the concert, it started to hit hayeon just how famous sunghoon really was. the venue was huge, looking like it could fit tens of thousands of people, if not hundreds of thousands.
she couldn't help but giggle to herself when she overhead a teenage girl talking to her friend about how much she loved enhypen. both of them had extravagant outfits on and were decked out in fan merch. they even gave out cute stickers to other people, which hayeon happily accepted. she found them adorable.
with just minutes to go before the concert would start, hayeon found her way to her seat and joined jiwon and sohee in their not so subtle people watching.
music began to come from the speakers all around them and one by one each hybe group came on stage, the crowd cheering for each of their favorite artists. finally, enhypen came out looking as beautiful as ever.
it was so weird to see her friends like this, hayeon thought. they really did look like kpop idols on stage, but the people she knew were just a group of goofy boys who happened to be famous. it was hard for her to connect the two images of them, almost as if they were living a double life.
sunghoon's face then flashed on the big screen, snapping her out of her thoughts immediately. the crowd cheered even louder at the sight of him, hayeon included. he was just so pretty, she didn't think she could ever get tired of looking at him.
sending a wink to the audience, he turned around and walked off stage with the rest of his group. as it would be awhile until they would come back on stage, hayeon sat back down in her seat and took the lightstick she had secretly stole from the boys' dorm out of her bag.

as the light went up and the crowd started to finally move out of the venue, hayeon, jiwon, and sohee made their way to the place that jungwon had told them to go to. it took the trio multiple tries to find the location, none of them being good at navigating big areas, but they eventually arrived at a door guarded by 4 very scary looking men.
"h-hi?" hayeon started to say, feeling very intimidated in that moment. "our friend told us to go here and that you would have our names on some list?"
glancing down at the ipad in his hand, one of them men nodded when he had found their names and opened the door.
hayeon had no idea what where she was, but she guessed it was some area for the artists as there was large amounts of security all over the place. turning the corner of the hallway, they finally saw a familiar face.
"jay!" sohee called out, her face immediately brightening at the sight of the boy.
hayeon and jiwon secretly snickered behind her back as jay greeted sohee with a hug, immediately causing her cheeks to redden.
the girls followed jay inside a large room that was for enhypen specifically, the rest of the boys hanging out inside. sohee immediately ditched jay at the sight of all of the snacks there were in a corner of the room, while hayeon and jiwon said actual greetings to the rest of their friends.
when hayeon had talked to almost every member, she finally forced herself to meet the eyes that she could feel had been on her the whole time.
all her plans of holding a grudge disappeared when she saw him looking at her with the biggest smile on his face. he looked so genuinely happy that she had come that she felt like crying on the spot.
hayeon wrapped her arms around the boy, immediately feeling better when he returned the hug. she had missed him so much, but she was far too stubborn for her own good.
"i'm so glad you came," sunghoon said, using the two's height difference to rest his chin on her head.
hayeon hugged him somehow even tighter before finally breaking the embrace and looking up at him.
"you did so good today!" she gushed, beginning to rant about all the things she loved about the concert.
sunghoon was truly such a good performer that she couldn't stop thinking about him throughout the entire concert, even when he wasn't on stage. although that may have also been due to other reasons too.
just as she was about to explain why she was convinced heeseung was somehow ai generated, the door to the room cracked open followed by a girl poking her head inside.
"hello?" she called out, causing a yelp to come from jiwon's mouth.
opening the door fully to reveal 7 other girls, hayeon figured that from the size of their group and the fact that jiwon looked like she was seconds away from passing out that this was fromis_9.
"hayeonwhatthefuckishappening," jiwon blurted out, dragging hayeon to the side by her arm and practically shaking her.
"happy late birthday!" was all hayeon said, before shoving jiwon forward and forcing her to say hello.
