🖤New Vampire In Town🖤

A knock on the hospital door wakes him up the next morning. The Sheriff pops her head in looking around before they land on the sleepy older Salvatore in the room.

"Caroline just woke up, how is Sapphire?" She softly asks, seeing the young girl still sleeping.

"She coded last night. They said it must be a shock to her system, all the injuries." He says looking at her pale face. They said she would get better but why hasn't she woken up yet?

"I know you want to stay by her side but could one of the others sit with her while we go talk to Carol?" Damon reluctantly agrees to let them move Sapphire to Caroline's room so she isn't alone when she wakes up.

They leave and speak to Carol who is pissed about what happened to her husband, insisting he wasn't a vampire. They all leave the office to see several people arriving at the Lockwood house saying their condolences.

Bonnie finds Damon outside walking up to him with important news.

"Did you know the Gilbert device affected Tyler Lockwood and Sapphire?"

"Well, I know it took the mayor down." He says finishing his drink.

"Don't you want to know why?" She asks.

"Yes Bonnie, I would love to know why a non-vampire was tortured by the vampire torture device you let John Gilbert use against us. Speaking of your guilt, how's Caroline? I know Sapphire hasn't woken up!"

He walks away from her and dials Caroline's number knowing she is the only one who could tell him if she woke up yet.

"She hasn't woken up Damon." She says the second she answers the phone.

"Great, thanks Blondie." He grumbles into the phone.

Back at the hospital both girls are now sleeping when Katherine enters their room startling Caroline.

"Hey Caroline."

"What are you doing here?" Caroline asks her, still groggy from sleep.

"My name is Katherine. I was hoping you could give the Salvatore brothers a message for me." Katherine says stalking over to her.

"What are you talking about? What message?"

"Game on." She smirks before grabbing one of Caroline's pillows and putting it on her face, smothering her until she dies.

"Now, what to do about you?" She wonders aloud while brushing a few strands of hair behind Sapphire's ear.

Before she can come to a decision, Sapphire gaps awake.

"Katherine?" She rasps out surprising the vampire but the moment her eyes meet Katherine's they roll back into her head as alarms sound. She was coding again.

Several nurses rushed in, ushering the woman out and quickly shocking the teen and getting her regular rhythm back. Katherine sighs from her spot outside the window. Thankful she disconnected Caroline's wires before killing her to turn her.

A few hours later when Katherine has left, Caroline wakes up in transition. She snatches a blood bag, almost in a trance and drinks it completing her transition to a vampire.

All her memories of Damon harming her when they 'dated' come flooding back to her, she knew what she was now and it scared her knowing her best friend was unconscious next to her.

Once visitors were allowed Matt made his way to the girls room to check on them.

"Your mom said you're not eating."

"It's gross." She mumbles.

"It's hospital food; it's supposed to be gross." He laughs going to kiss her.

"She also said you're getting released tomorrow and that Sapphire is still not awake. They think she might be in a coma due to the trauma and pain." He says sadly while glancing at the girl.

"Morning? I need to get out tonight." Caroline stresses, she learned that the sun burns her skin now.

"No, the carnival is going to happen without you, Caroline. I know it's hard for your neurotic control freak personality to process but Bonnie and Elena have it." Matt says.

"I'm not neurotic." She scoffs.

"Yeah you are but it's cute so..."

"Look, it's not about the carnival, okay? It's just that this place is just really depressing." 

"I thought you'd want to stay with Saph. Also maybe sitting in the dark isn't helping." He starts to open the curtains making Caroline freak out before running to the other side of the room to avoid the sunlight.

"What the hell?"

"Just close it, please?" She begs.

"What is wrong with you?"

"Close it!" She firmly snaps at him. He finally shuts them, cutting off the sunlight from coming into the room.

"I'll just come back later with Tyler, okay?"

"No! Just you, Damon doesn't want Tyler near her." She tells him before he leaves the room.

Caroline starts getting ready to leave but as she picks up the necklace Elena gave her it burns her skin making her toss it on the floor in shock.

A nurse comes in and picks it up for her.

"That's pretty." She says setting it on a table.

"Yeah, my friend gave it to me." She mumbles trying to piece things together.

Once the nurse leaves after checking on Sapphire, Caroline drinks blood from a blood bag and sees her reflection for the first time since her transition, making her scream at the veins under her eyes and fangs.

The nurse rushes back in to see why she screamed asking what's wrong only to be pinned against the wall by Caroline's new vampire speed and strength.

"You can't tell anyone, you can't tell anyone!" She accidentally compels the woman.

"I can't tell anyone." The nurse repeats in a monotone voice.

"You'll do what I say?" She asks softly.

"I'll do what you say."

"Good, because I'm starving." She bites into the nurse's neck, draining her.

After getting her fill she helps clean the nurse up and compels her once more to forget what happened and help Sapphire the best she can.

A loud gasp fills the now empty hospital room along with the rapid beeping of the heart monitor. Nurses rush in to examine the now awake teen.

"Don't move honey, you broke quite a few bones. Someone please call her family and let them know she is awake."

Several nurses and a doctor talk to each other, confusing the girl.

"Day... Day.." She mumbles trying to push them away but only causing pain in her arms.

"It's been a few days dear." A nurse informs her.

"No... Damon..." She rasps out. They soon realize she wants her uncle.

One of them steps out of the room to make the phone call.
