CHAPTER 5: DEATH GAMES

Moments later everyone walks in, they all look so confused as to what was going on. Ruth spoke up "hey, we heard someone screaming, is everything alright?" She had a puzzled look on her face as soon as she saw Linda. I walk down to where Linda was standing to try and reassure her that everything was fine.

After Kevin turned around, he faced Linda and I. Linda got scared when she saw that his face was healed. She aimed at him one more time, wanting to burn him burn I manage to stop her before she causes a lot of damage. She does end up burning his arm.

At that very moment everyone was standing at the end of the stairs just watching what the hell is going on. They all saw Kevin get burned. I turned to Linda, trying to talk to her in the sweetest way possible.

"Listen okay, that boy has superpowers and if you burn him, his body is just going to heal itself. He's like a hero and he's on our side so there is no need to worry. Ok?" I say to her in whispers and she luckily gets the message and lowers her blow torch.

I whispered for Kevin to cover his arm and exaggerate his pain. Luca looked so worried for his brother and I had a feeling he was going to approach him and find out his secret, so I walk over to him and did the unthinkable.

You know those k-drama moments when the girl gets hurt or bullied and the guy runs over and helps her? Well it felt like that but it was reversed, I was the guy and the girl is a half-zombie boy. i took his arm and pulled it towards me to hide it.

"I can take care of this, and Linda give that blow torch to that guy over there." I instruct, pointing towards Luca. "Linda, do you have a first aid kit in your house?" I ask before she walks over to Luca. "I think it's in the living room in the cabinet on the far left." she says as she points towards the living room. "Luca, keep her safe. I'll take care of Kevin's arm. Don't let anything happen to her ok.

"Follow me." I whisper as i turn around to face Kevin. "Where are we going? he said through his teeth as we walk past everyone standing at the bottom of the stairs just watching everything play out .

"Just follow me." I say as i walk toward the living room. "Are you guys really sure there's nothing going on?" she asks as we walks past her. "NO!" We both say at the same time as we look at each other.

When we enter the living room I gestured for him to sit as I get the first aid kit, which for some reason had no bandages in it. I walked back to where Kevin was sitting.

"Hey, rip a part of your shirt so I can tie it around your arm." I say in a cold and unhinged tone.

"NO! why would i do that?" he whispered the question as soon as he realizes the others were staring. In a few seconds Luca walks over, asking what we were doing and why his brother was yelling.

"Dude, she asked me take of my shirt, isn't that sus?" He says as if he was asking for help. "I asked him to rip only a part of his shirt." I try to explain. "Why?" He questions as if he was about to start investigating me.

"Well, there aren't any bandages in the first aid kit, and i can't rip my shirt since there's barely any shirt left." I say looking at my crop top that used to be a shirt.

"I should rip mine then." Says Luca, already preparing to rip his shirt. "There's no need for anyone to rip their shirts. We have a first aid kit in the car and I'm sure it has bandages. I'll go get it." He says while leaning on the window pane that's facing the living room observing what was going on.

"Berlin how long have you been sitting there?" Kevin questions Berlin. "For as long as Luca was here. What? Were you guys making out or something?" He asked like he knew something was up. "Anyway I will go get it." He says as he turns his back towards us walking towards the door.

Moments later he comes back rushing in with the kit in his hands. He slams the door behind him and breathlessly walks over to us. He hands over the bandages to me and I pull Kevin away.

When he uncovers his arm the burn marks are already gone. I quickly wrap the bandages on his arm and let him go.

Everyone had already gathered in the living room probably worried about why Berlin rushed in like that. As soon as he catches his breathe, he says "There are a bunch of zombies getting close to the house. We need to get out of here NOW! And we need a plan on how we're going to get out of here." There was nothing but panic in his voice.

"Are there any zombies around the car?" asks Ruth. He took a second before he replying "No, but if they see or hear us making a run for it then we will be dead for sure."

"Ok, so all we need is to get them away from the entrance." Tisi says as she turns towards Linda. "Linda, do you have fireworks or a speaker in your house?" Linda replies "We have fireworks, but I don't know where they are." Kevin suddenly spoke up "I saw them in that cabinet over there." He points towards the same wooden cabinet where the first aid kit was.

We gather everything and set it up. We lit the fireworks at the back of the house, as soon as one of them set off into the air a shit ton of zombies run to the back of the house.

We all manage to make a run to the car and we starts to drive off. "Wait, we don't have anywhere to go." Ruth says as we watch the fireworks in the distance. "I have a house in the place. We could go there." Tisi suddenly speaks up. We all go quiet and stare at her, dumbfounded.

Berlin even stops there car to look at Tisi. "Why didn't you say anything then?" He asks her. "you guys never asked." She says casually shrugging her shoulders.

"Are you serious?" I ask her. "Dude, are you serious f*cking with me. I told you about it and you brushed me off." She says looking at me. Realization suddenly hits me. "Oh yeah you were talking about it when we were coming from the dorms, how could I forget?" Say chuckling to myself.

"Are you kidding me? Don't ever forget such useful info." Luca says while looking at us accusingly.

"Okay, well anyways. I can take you guys there and we can survive there for a couple of days, unless you all want to sit here and be a bunch of drama queens." She says looking pointedly at Luca. "Lead the way." Luca says as he leans back into his seat.

"Hey, Berlin can you let me drive so I can take you guys to my house?" "What? Can you even drive?" He asks. "Yeah, obviously. Why else would I ask you to let me drive?" She asks, speaking in a 'duh' tone. "Fine" he says, giving in.

Everyone was so puzzled at how easy it was for Tisi to persuade him. Since there might be zombies nearby, we don't risk anything by opening the doors, so we have to work with what we have.

After a long struggle, everyone is properly seated and Tisi takes us to her house, which is a few miles out of Tavana.
