Sophia POV

It was a rough storm passing through the district. Though it comes with spring time I suppose. I picked up the next dirty dish from dinner and continued to clean. The thunder and winds could be heard even through the thick brick walls of our home. This was a large storm, it made me worry for those not fortunate enough to live in brick homes. Footsteps came up from behind me and held me close, knocking me out of my thoughts.

"You know, you really should have asked for help with the dishes dear." I look to see my loving husband Otto. He trimmed his beard back today making it look sharp and clean. His dark brown hair slicked back to stay out of his stunning green eyes.

"It's your birthday. You should be relaxing, not handling the chores." I replied a giggle escaping my smiling lips. He laughed in response. "Well, I would relax much better if you were by my side," he said, letting go of my waist and grappling a rag to clean the dishes.

That was Otto for you, very headstrong and loving towards his family. He would make a great father. Sadly, I've been unable to become pregnant. We were still waiting for Dr. Jaeger to see if he could help us, but for now, we just have to wait for the storm to roll through.

With Otto's help, the dishes were finished in no time at all.

"So dear, what would you have planned for tonight?~" I said as I approached him, however before he could respond, there was a strange sound. It made my hair stand on end, and Otto immediately picked up on this.

"Sofia? What's wrong dear?" His face became serious with a hint of worry. "I thought I heard something strange," I stated. We both listened closely only hearing the winds and rain hammering the side of the home. However, then I heard it again, a high-pitched cry. It wasn't that of a woman, more of a child.

"There! That did you hear that!?" I held Otto by the arms. He only nodded, confusion written across his face. "Was that a child?" I asked as I heard it again.

Otto then took action bolting for the front entrance of our house. "Grab your coat Sofia! We need to figure out what's going on!" I followed him as quickly as I could, grabbing my coat and shoes while heading to the door. The noise only got louder as we got closer to the front door.

I opened the front door, immediately being blown back by the strong winds of the storm still hitting the city. Regaining my composure, I see something on the top step of our house.

A small bundle of rags, the source of the crying. Otto noticed the rags as well and picked them up quickly shutting the door behind him as he re-entered the home. The crying was even louder now as we huddled over the bundle of rags that Otto was holding in his arms. I reached up, and slowly peeled back a layer of the rags, revealing a small infant. We both gasped at the sight.

"Oh my gosh. Otto, this child..." We were both shocked. Being unable to birth a child of our own, suddenly we were gifted a child. Tears began to fall from my face as I looked at the face of the infant. I reached out and took the child into my arms, a motherly instinct taking over as I began to sway the child, getting it to calm down quickly. I could hear Otto chuckle at me taking this child in almost immediately. "Well, what shall we name the child?" Otto said as he took his coat off. Looking at the child, only one name came to mind "(Y/N)" I said. Otto smiled as he held me with one arm while holding young (Y/N) with his other. "(Y/N) Bismarck it is then. Welcome to the world..."
