Western Wall Rose, Paradise
3RD POV
It was a bright and warm afternoon in the walls of humanity. Spring had been in full bloom for some time and summer was coming up upon the people of the lands fast.
In the rocky terrain of western Wall Rose, the 104th Cadet Corps were training their navigational skills. They had been in the area for a few weeks for various types of navigation training with both ODM Gear and horseback. The cadets were dirty, telling of their time out in the region. With mud staining their boots and pants, and sweat covering their brows from the climbing and walking they have been doing.
However, today would mark their final training session in the area, with Commandant Shadis getting them into formation for their information.
"Alright maggots, this here is your final assignment! You will split into two groups already determined by myself and my advisors. You will have two days to navigate from here to a specified meeting point I have put on your maps. Cadet Bodt and Cadet Wagner! Front and center!" The two cadets run up to the front of the formation, the former having his classic friendly smile while the latter held a more stern look. "You two shall be the leaders of your teams! Bodt, you are in charge of A Team! Werner, you will be leading B Team. Now Cadet Arlet and Cadet Ackermann! Front and center!" Armin and Mikasa both run up a serious look on their faces. "Cadet Arlert, you will be recording and evaluating the performance of your squadmates on A Team! Cadet Ackermann, you will be doing the same for B Team!"
The two cadets salute with a "Yes sir!". Shadis looks out to the cadet, noticing how their numbers have dwindled over the past year of training. "I expect this exercise to be much slower than what you are used to. It is a very simple task of getting from point A to point B. Even the simpletons like you lot could do it without failing. Now get your gear!" With this, the cadets scramble to get their gear and into their team, determined to beat the other team to the destination.
There was much excitement to be had with the cadets as they would be able to go back to base camp after this training. And they were desperately in need of a fresh set of clothes and an actual bed.
On Team A, Marco Bodt was in charge of a small number of cadets including Armin Arlert, Jean Kirschtein, Eren Jaeger, Connie Springer, Sasha Braus, and Christa Lenz. On Team B, Thomas Werner was leading Mikasa Ackermann, Reiner Braun, Bertholdt Hoover, Annie Leonhart, (Y/N) Bismarck, and Ymir.
Now, one could look at these teams and tell that Team B was significantly better off. And they would be right, of course. However, Shadis saw this more as an opportunity for Team A to show their true colors, without one of the stronger cadets stealing the spotlight. Little did they know of what was to come...
(Y/N) POV
My team and I were riding horseback across the rocky terrain. It was a... boring experience to say the least. Myself and Ymir were in the back of our formation, still slightly salty that neither of us were placed on a team with Christa.
Over the past year, Ymir, Christa, and I had gotten extremely close. With Ymir eventually admitting that we were friends, much to the delight of Christa. Ymir and I trained each other on different fighting techniques and bonded over them, leading to us being almost best friends, if not for Christa holding that spot for the both of us.
I could feel a poke to my side, looking I saw Ymir holding a large stick. "Hey, you're monologing again..."
Shit...
