Chapter 11: Last Day Of Hell

I woke up and groaned. My head was on something. And it wasn't my soft pillows.

I sit up and see Veneer right next to me. And Morty, Sally, Velvet, and Orchid.

The memories of last night flooded my brain. I guess we'd all fallen asleep to the movie. I shake my friend awake. He squints up at me. "Ritz?"

"Yeah. We all fell asleep while watching the movie. Now help me wake up the others." I say, crawling over to my sister. "Orchid! Wake up!"

"Five more minutes..." She mutters groggily, turning over and snuggling Velvet's arm.

"Is it wrong that they look adorible like that?" Veneer asks, nodding at our sleeping sisters.

"I suppose it is pretty cute." I say.

He chuckles. "Yeah. Hey Mortyyyyyyyyyyyyy!" He shakes Morty, who was snuggled up with Sally. Cute.

"GUYS WE HAVE SCHOOL TODAY! DOES ANYONE WANNA BE LATE?!" I yell.

In seconds, they're all up and stumbling around. "WHAT'S GOING ON?!" Velvet exclaims. "WHERE AM I?!"

"My house. We all passed out during the movie. Orchid, lend Velvet, Morty, and Sally some clothes. Veneer, c'mon." I say.

They all walked out, except for Veneer. I handed him a light blue shirt and some black jeans, he stepped out of the room and into the hallway.

I get myself changed, I brush my teeth and hair, and tie it back into a ponytail. Then I went out to the kitchen where everyone was eating toast. Orchid handed me a slice and I take a few bites before saying: "What's up?"

"Not too much. We're all gonna finish breakfast and walk to school since the bus doesn't come this way." She said.

"M'kay." I say.

When we've all eaten, we head down the block and to school. The car wasn't in the driveway, so I figured Mom's went to work.

The rest of the day kinda drags on after that. The teachers let us all have the hour free in every class since it was the last day. I just spent some time filling up my sketchbook.

Then gym rolled around.

"Hey... um, Ritz?" James walks up to me.

"What?" I ask.

"Uhhh... can I talk to you? I-in private?" He asks, looking around nervously.

I wasn't sure weather I should say yes, he sounded like he was trying to be friendly, but at the same time, he could be trying to trick me into a trap.

"If you have something you don't want people to hear, just whisper it." I said.

He sighs, then gulps. "How did you figure out that you were gay?"

"I- what?" I raised an eyebrow in confusion. "I, I'm not sure. I dunno."

"Well... I... I'm starting to question my sexuality." He says.

"Why?" I say, trying to sound nice.

"Because... because I think I have a crush on a guy in my class."

My eyes widen. "What's his name?"

"Nick." He mutters.

"Wait, seriously? I know him. He's in my art class." I say.

"Please don't tell anyone, I just... you're the only gay guy I know that seems would give advice. D-do you know how I could figure it out?" 

I sigh, rip out a page of my sketchbook, write my number on it, and hand it to him. "Here, text me sometime if you ever need advice."

"Thanks." He says, taking the paper.

"Yeah, yeah. It's fine." I say.

"Uh, bye." He said.

"Bye." I say, beginning a drawing of a rose.

When the day eventually ends, I meet up with my sister and friends, and we all walk out of the school together.

Then Velvet suddenly turns around and sticks up her middle fingers at the building.

"GOODBYE YOU LIVING HELL! I'LL SEE YOU PICE OF SHIT NEVAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!" She screams.

We all laugh and Veneer does the same thing his sister did.

"GOODBYE BITCHES!!!" He yelled, waving his hands around, middle fingers up.

We all laugh even more.

"Y'all are so unpredictable!" Morty wheezes.

"We know." Velvet smirks.

"I'll see you guys tomorrow." I laugh. "Bye."

"Bye!" Veneer calls as me and Orchid walk away.

"That was certainly a day!" She laughs.

"Yeah, it was!" I say. "Wanna know what happened in gym class?"

"What?"

"James came up to me and said that he apperently has a crush on Nick."

"SAY WHAT NOW?!"

"Yeah. Don't tell anyone though."

"MY LIPS ARE SEALED!"

"Okay! Now stop yelling!" I laugh.

"NO!"

"Yes!"

"NO!"

"Yes!"

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!"

"YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!"

"HEY! NOW YOU'RE YELLING!"

"I KNOW!"

We practically died of laughter right then.

What a day indeed.
