TESSA'S LOCKWOOD POV

The sun casts a warm glow over the park as I sit on the bench, watching Clyde and our son Dennis laugh and play. It's moments like these that make everything feel right, even if it's just for a fleeting second. Six months have slipped by in the blink of an eye, and yet, it feels like a lifetime since Zenith came into our lives.

The Aguirres have been surprisingly welcoming, embracing Zenith with open arms as if he's always been a part of their family. It's a relief, knowing that Zenith has a support system beyond just Clyde and me. They adore him, and it's heartwarming to see how much joy he brings them.

As for Clyde and me, well, our relationship is... complicated, to say the least. We've settled into this rhythm of co-parenting without ever addressing the elephant in the room — our feelings. He's a devoted father, I'll give him that much. Watching him with Zenith, it's clear that fatherhood comes naturally to him.

The media frenzy that followed the revelation of Zenith's paternity was chaotic, to say the least. People speculating about our relationship status, whether we're back together or just navigating this new normal as co-parents. Honestly, their opinions don't matter. Clyde and I know the truth, even if we haven't fully acknowledged it ourselves.

The ringing of my phone pulls me out of my reverie, and I glance at the caller ID to see David's name flashing on the screen. With a smile, I accept the FaceTime call, knowing he's eager to catch a glimpse of Zenith, who's now spending time with Clyde.

"Hey, David," I greet him warmly as I angle the phone to show Zenith playing happily with Clyde in the background. David's face lights up at the sight, his joy palpable even through the screen.

We exchange pleasantries, and David mentions being at the office, his dedication to his work unwavering. Despite the distance and the complexities of our past, David has remained a steadfast friend, a source of support when I've needed it most.

Tessa: Hey, David! How's everything on your end?

David: Tessa, it's great to see you! Oh, look at Zenith, he's grown so much!

Tessa: I know, right? Time flies. How's work in Italy?

David: It's been hectic, as usual. Taking over the Mafia office comes with its challenges, but I'm managing.

Tessa: I can only imagine. Your dedication is admirable.

David: Thanks, Tessa. So, how are you holding up? How's life in New York?

Tessa: It's been good, actually. Clyde and I have settled into a routine with Zenith. Co-parenting has its ups and downs, but we're managing.

David: That's good to hear. I'm glad Clyde is stepping up as a father.

Tessa: Yeah, he's been amazing with Zenith. It's brought us closer, in a way.

David: Tessa, I've been meaning to say this for a while now. I'm proud of how far you've come. You're stronger than you think.

Tessa: Thank you, David. That means a lot coming from you.

David: You've grown so much since everything that happened. I'm glad you're learning to let go and move forward.

Tessa: It hasn't been easy, but I'm trying. I don't want to hold onto the past forever.

David: You shouldn't have to. Life is about embracing the present and looking towards the future.

Tessa: You're right. I've spent too long dwelling on what could have been. It's time to focus on what's ahead.

David: Exactly. And remember, Tessa, you always have options. Don't be afraid to explore them.
