CLYDE'S AGUIRRE POV
The moment Tessa collapses, panic surges through me. Dialing 911, I urgently request an ambulance and inform Astra about the situation via text. Astra arrives swiftly, attempting to reassure me amidst the chaos. Sirens wail as the ambulance arrives, and I lift Tessa into my arms, determined to get her immediate help.
Navigating through the stares in the hallway, I pay no heed, my focus solely on Tessa's well-being. At the ambulance, paramedics attend to her urgently. I offer to accompany them, and they allow me to sit beside Tessa's stretcher. Astra follows behind, taking my car.
An hour later, we wait anxiously at the hospital. The feeling of helplessness consumes me. Despite everything, I realize I still harbor deep feelings for Tessa. The fear of losing her intensifies, and I grapple with the uncertainty of her condition.
The doctor's voice interrupts our thoughts. As I stand, the doctor delivers unexpected news, a mix of shock and disbelief washing over me. "Congratulations, you're going to be a father. She is three months pregnant." The revelation leaves me stunned.
"I am the father," David's voice interrupts the moment, and we all turn to face him. His expression is a mix of surprise, confusion, and disbelief, mirroring the emotions swirling within me.
"Leave. You're not needed here. I will take care of my wife by myself," David asserts with a firm tone, his protective instincts kicking in.
"That is not true; that baby is mine," I retaliate, defiance in my voice. David laughs dismissively, "Oh really? Let's see what Tessa can say about it," he challenges.
Astra intervenes, attempting to diffuse the tension, "Just stop, all of you. We can settle this like civilized people. The truth lies with the mother. We better wait for Tessa to confirm the real father of the child."
"Doctor, we would like to see the patient," Astra asks the doctor.
The doctor directs us to the ward room, and there is Tessa, already awake with a nurse by her side. She gasps upon seeing me here. David rushes over to her, giving her a hug and asking if she's okay. She sweetly assures him that she is fine, and I feel a pang of jealousy witnessing their affection. After all, I was the one who brought her here. Where was her damn husband then?
Tessa, her eyes on me, asks David, "What is he doing here?"
"Don't worry; he is leaving soon. Now that I am here, I will take care of you. So, my dear wife, have you heard the good news?"
"What good news?"
"We are going to be parents; you are pregnant."
Tessa's eyes widen before she smiles and hugs David. I feel irritated by their closeness.
"What? I am going to be a mom?" Tessa asks David, her hand gently touching her belly. David nods, saying, "You will make a good mom; I am sure of it." Tessa smiles.
Unable to contain myself any longer, I burst out, "That baby is mine, Tessa, right?"
David and Tessa break apart, both looking at me in surprise. Tessa's eyes narrow, a mix of confusion and disbelief.
"What are you talking about, Clyde? This is David's child," Tessa responds, her tone defensive.
I shake my head, frustration and determination welling up inside me. "No, Tessa, that baby is mine. You can't deny it."
David, sensing the tension, steps between us. "Enough, Clyde. Tessa is my wife, and we are having a child together. Don't make baseless claims."
Astra, standing quietly in the background, intervenes. "Maybe we should let Tessa have some rest. This is not the right time to discuss such matters."
