That one trip to Italy

𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐅𝐈𝐅𝐓𝐘

1 day till it's all over.

Waking up way to early in the morning, worrying about exams and tests, getting told off for wearing a skirt too short. All that is over.

But that also means, seeing my friends everyday, the endless chatter at lunch, volleyball, making up stupid excuses on why I didn't do my homework. All that is over.

So I am going to watch high school musical 3 and ignore my emotions.

"Why the fuck can't we start with number 1?" Xander sits down on Liv's couch. "Because we are graduating, and this one is about Gabriella and Troy graduating." Nate tells him and everyone shoots their heads to him.

Nate turns red and gives us a smile. "How the hell do you know all that?" Olivia sits next to him with a bowl of popcorn in her hands. "Uh. I looked it up." Nate shrugs picking up a handful of popcorn. "Fucking liar." Harvey laughs sinking down next to me.

Everyone finds a seat and Olivia presses play. "He is fucking hot." Bella chirps up from her seat when Zac Efron comes on. "No he is not." Olivia laughs. "Shut up he is." Bella leans in her seat.

We have gotten through quite a bit of the movie, the food as disappeared and all the empty bowls sit on the table in front of us when I see my favourite seen of fucking all time come on.

Gabriella walks up the stairs to the rooftop and they start to dance and sing 'can I have this dance'. "This is my favourite song from the movies." I smile as I watch them sing.

"Same I love it." Avery says. I could feel myself smile but I couldn't care if I was smiling at a Disney movie or a fucking horror movie I love this scene so much.

I could feel Harvey's gaze on me and I turn slightly to see him staring at me. His deep blue eyes light up when the light hits them and his smile softens.

"What?" I let out a nervous giggle. "You look so fucking cute." His hand comes to my hip where he brings me closer. "Shush I'm trying to watch the movie." I roll my eyes turning back to the screen hoping he can't see that my face has turned pink.

I watch as the song comes to an end and lean my head on Harvey's chest. His hand comes to my back his fingertips going up and down my back.

"Why the fuck is he so dramatic." Xander chuckles while we all watch Troy scream his heart out in the school. "Shut up he is sad." Avery shoots him a glare. "Jeez sorry." He puts his hands up.

I get up quickly to get a glass of water and I feel someone follow me. I turn to see Olivia who takes some more popcorn out and puts it in the microwave. "Ready for tomorrow?" She asks.

"Hell no." I try to laugh. "Neither." She lets out a long sigh. "It's fine, we stick together yeah?" She looks up at me. "Always." I turn on the tap and let the glass fill up.

"Got ur gown ready?" I ask her lifting the glass to my lips. "I just gotta iron it but thats all." She tells me.

"Yeah same. What time do we gotta be there tomorrow?" I take a sip of water. "We finish school at 1 and gotta get there at 4."

"Shit it's actually over." I let out a breathy laugh. "I know." She bites down on her lip nervously. "Whats up?" I ask hearing the laughing from the other room as the muffled song comes to an end.

"I'm nervous." She says nearly a whisper. "I am too, it's alright we got this okay, we have all summer to figure our shit out and we will be there together." I try my best to comfort her, but also myself.

"Without Avery, Bella, Xander and Harvey." As she says Harvey my heart aches. "Mhm." Was all I could let out.

"Maddie it is okay to not be okay with this you know that right?" I feel her hand on my shoulder.

I try to ignore the tears at the back of my eyes blinking them away. "Yeah I know." I nod and she takes the popcorn out and fills the bowl up. We walk back in and I sink into my seat and Harvey's body jolts to my direction.

"Whats up?" he whispers. "Nothing I'm good." I shoot him a smile and face the screen. "Maddie." His voice cracks and I almost know what he is thinking. "I promise its okay, we will talk about it later yeah?" I tell him.

He nods and drapes his arm over me.

We finish the movie and all decide to head home to get an early sleep cause tomorrow is going to be busy. I Unbuckle my seat in Harvey's car as we pull up to my house. I feel his gaze on me "Harvey?" I question and he stiffens in his seat.

"It's going to be hard okay." He lets out turning the car off. "I just, I just know we can do this okay, after all the shit we have both been through a few hours away can't break us." He turns to face me cupping my cheek.

"Baby if you think I would leave you, fuck. I couldn't do that, I couldn't do that to you, or myself you have changed my life and I don't think I could do it without you."

A huge smile spreads on my face and I feel tears blur my vision. "I love you so fucking much Maddie and even the thought of not being with you hurts me, but I know we can get through it okay?" He rubs his thumb across my cheek.

A tear goes down my face and he quickly wipes it away a soft smile forming on his face. "Don't cry baby." He kisses my hand and I hear the light rain hitting the car.

It begins to rain harder and suddenly Harvey starts driving his car the only thing lighting up the road. "What are you doing?" I ask confused. "Taking you somewhere." He says over the loud rain.

I don't question it and after around 5 minutes we arrive at a park. He runs out of the car opening the door for me his hair already soaked. I take his hand and he keeps the car on turning the radio on.

It takes him a few minutes and by the the time he comes back I'm soaked. Soft music begins to play and I quickly pick up what he is doing. 'Can I have this dance' begins to play and a smile spreads on my lips.

"Oh my god." I laugh and he takes my hand. "Take my hand." The music plays. "And I'll take the lead."

He places his hands on my waist and starts spinning me around his eyes catching on the car light showing the dark blue.

The chorus begins to play and he picks me up twirling me around a handful of laughs coming from both of us.

He puts me down and I place my hands on his neck pulling him in for a kiss. His hands come to my lower back pulling me closer until there was no gap between us.

I knot my hands into his wet hair I place a hand on his chest and could feel how fast his heart was beating. I pull back from the kiss and give him a smile. "I love you." I say suddenly water droplets going down my face.

"I love you." He kisses my forehead before dipping me down and kissing me on the lips causing giggles to swarm in my body.

As soon as my feet land on the floor again he spins me around stepping me left and right with the music.

As the music comes to an end I lean my head on his soaked t shirt and we just stand there for a moment.

"I already miss you and you're not even gone yet." I look up at him and he stares at me his eyes softening.

"God dammit I am already sick of you." He teases lighting up the mood. I slap his arm and he tilts my head back up to him. "I already miss you." He almost whispers.

Before I could burst into tears once more like the cry baby I am Harvey takes me back to the car draping a towel over me and we make our way home.
