The Underground Prison, Region: The Mula Region

Kai sat shackled to the cold, damp wall of the underground prison, his eyes burning with a madness that had been festering for months. Kali, V, Koba, and the guards stood in a semicircle around him, their faces a mix of sorrow, fear, and determination.

Kali stepped forward, her voice trembling. "Kai, why did you do it? Why did you break your promise and destroy the Mula Region?"

Kai's gaze flickered to her, a twisted smile forming on his lips. "Because promises are meaningless in a world where death is random and cruel. Mahiro proved to me that humanity could be good, but he was taken away. What does that tell you about this world?"

V's voice cracked as she spoke, tears streaming down her face. "Kai, Mahiro wouldn't have wanted this. He believed in peace, in hope. You're dishonoring his memory."

Kai's laughter was hollow, echoing off the stone walls. "Hope? Peace? Those are lies we tell ourselves to avoid facing the truth. Humanity is a blight, a disease that needs to be eradicated. Mahiro was a rare exception, a fleeting glimpse of what could have been. But he was killed, and his death only confirms what I already knew—humanity is beyond saving."

Koba's fists clenched at his sides. "So your solution is to wipe everyone out? To commit genocide? That's madness, Kai!"

"Madness?" Kai's eyes blazed with fury. "Madness is letting this world continue to exist in its current state. Madness is believing that anything will ever change. I tried to hold onto hope, but Mahiro's death shattered that illusion. Now, I see clearly. The only way to cleanse this world is through fire and destruction."

Kali's voice was barely a whisper. "And what about us, Kai? Your friends? Do we mean nothing to you anymore?"

Kai's expression softened momentarily, a flicker of the old Kai shining through. But it was quickly replaced by a hardened resolve. "You were my friends, my family. But if you stand in my way, you're just another obstacle. Nothing will stop me from achieving my goal. Not even you."

V's voice trembled with a mix of fear and determination. "Kai, you're not the man we once knew. This isn't you. We can help you, we can find another way."

Kai's laugh was cold and devoid of joy. "There is no other way. Mahiro's death was the final proof I needed. Humanity is irredeemable. The only path forward is to erase it entirely."

The guards shifted uneasily, their hands resting on their weapons. The air in the room was thick with tension, the gravity of Kai's words sinking in.

Koba took a step closer, his voice firm. "We won't let you do this, Kai. We won't let you destroy everything. We'll stop you, even if it means..."

Kai's eyes locked onto Koba's, a dangerous gleam in them. "Even if it means killing me? Go ahead, try. But know this—I've already set my plans in motion. The flames will spread, and there is nothing you can do to stop them."

Kali, V, and Koba exchanged glances, their faces pale but resolute. They knew the man they once called a friend was gone, consumed by his grief and madness.

Kali's voice was steady as she spoke. "Then we'll do whatever it takes to stop you, Kai. For Mahiro, for the people of this world, and for the memory of the man you used to be."

Kai's smile was a chilling blend of sorrow and resolve. "Try all you want. In the end, humanity will burn. And when it does, you'll understand why it had to be this way."

As the guards moved to secure Kai more tightly, the room was filled with a heavy silence, the weight of their task pressing down on them. They knew the path ahead would be fraught with peril and heartbreak, but they also knew they couldn't let Kai's madness consume the world.
