The Chalet Region, Lair of the Blood Dragon Gang
As Kai retreated into the shadows, his mind buzzed with memories, each one a thread connecting him to his past. He knew he couldn't escape them, nor did he want to. They were a part of him, shaping him into the man he had become.
Summoning Agitó with a silent command, Kai watched as the towering beast materialized before him, its eyes glowing with an otherworldly light. Agitó wasn't from his original world, but an ability he had learned to summon while in this realm. Nevertheless, there was something different about Agitó this time—a sense of awareness, of understanding.
"Agitó," Kai spoke, his voice low and reverent. "Do you know of my past? The world I came from?"
The beast nodded, a low rumble emanating from its throat. "Yes, Kai. I See your memories."
Kai's mind drifted back to a time before he had discovered his powers, before he had become the harbinger of destruction. He remembered the strange woman who had bestowed upon him his abilities, the training sessions with Kali, V, and Mahiro, the sense of belonging he had felt for the first time in his life.
But there was darkness too—the day he had attacked his mother's gang, the violence that had consumed him as he unleashed his newfound power. He remembered the kick he had delivered to his mother's pregnant form, the sickening sound of bone breaking, the horrified screams that had echoed in the alley.
"I knew," Kai whispered, his voice filled with regret. "I knew she was pregnant. But the rage... it consumed me."
Agitó's eyes softened, a silent understanding passing between them. "You were consumed by your emotions, Kai. But that does not absolve you of your actions."
Kai nodded, the weight of his past bearing down on him like a leaden cloak. "I have carried that guilt with me every day since," he admitted. "But it is a burden I must bear."
Agitó's gaze sharpened, a flicker of curiosity in its eyes. "And what of Bi-Han, the king of this realm? What role does he play in your past?"
Kai's jaw clenched as he recalled the confrontation with Bi-Han, the fury that had consumed him when he learned of what he did to Kou, of the betrayal that had turned his friend into a monster. He remembered the flames that had danced at his fingertips, the raw power coursing through his veins as he faced off against the king.
"I fought him," Kai said, his voice tinged with bitterness. "I fought him with everything I had. And I unalived him, Agitó. I ended his reign of terror, but it wasn't enough. It will never be enough."
Agitó nodded solemnly, its gaze fixed on Kai with a mixture of understanding and sympathy. "You carry the weight of your past, Kai. But you also carry the power to shape your future. You must decide what path you will walk."
Kai's eyes blazed with determination, his resolve firm. "I know what path I must walk, Agitó. The path of destruction, of cleansing. Humanity will fall, and I will be the one to bring about its end."
With those words, Kai turned and strode into the darkness, Agitó at his side. The echoes of his past reverberated in his mind, but he pushed them aside, focusing on the task ahead.
For Kai knew that his destiny awaited him, and he would not rest until it was fulfilled.
