There is something so tragically captivating about having loved a devil.
You imagine that if you fed it well & gave to it all the spoils you could offer -
it would be appreciative, love you even.
But a devil who has not been fed when hungry, or watered when thirsty,
will incessantly be maddened by desperation & cruel desire.
You feed it & so it hoardes your love, never sharing nor returning in kind.
You praise it & so it spits contortions of your words back at you, mocking your nerve.
Whomever had said that well fed devils behave better than famished saints
clearly had never seen such saints feed before.
The truth of the matter is - a devil will never be full, it will never be satiated.
You should never love a devil.- a.a.j
