Solo missions, the worst kind of mission for a Jujutsu sorcerer without competition. Not due to their difficulty but rather the loneliness that accompanies them. Y/N wasn't able to bring Himeno on this mission as she had been asked to assist in training the first years by Yaga to make her cover story appear more accurate, leaving Y/N to take on this mission on his own "Well, here we are. Your objective is to check the status of those inside the building. If they're dead, leave them until all have been accounted for. Even then you don't have to recover their bodies, we'll have a stronger sorcerer do that later."

Y/N flung his coat on "Thank you, Ijichi. I'll be back out soon." Ijichi nodded at Y/N as he left the car and approached the old looking mansion. Some teenagers had been doing some kind of courage test and gone missing. The spirits there were estimated to be grade two at most so Y/N was a perfect candidate to take them on. It wouldn't ever come to that though, Y/N's mission was to find the status of those missing, not engage the spirits.

"Three high grade one spirits, are you trying to have him killed?"

"He needs to die to evolve and become useful."

"You've said that before but each time, he has lived. Are you sure this will work?"

"Are you questioning my knowledge?"

The black haired man laughed "Of course not, I trust your judgement, Makima. I was simply curious."

Makima's gaze shot through the man's 'soul' as he felt the energy radiate from her eyes alone "Just send the spirits in after he becomes comfortable. If he walks out alive, we know he's got slightly more potential than previously thought."

"Talking so coldly about your own son, how cruel." Makima's eyes switched focus to Y/N, watching as he approached the building.

"I'll be waiting for your assessment once you return." She stated, emotionlessly

The black haired man nodded "Of course, Makima. I'm sure your son will prove a useful asset once he has been forced to evolve."

"You place too much faith in his ability. He has given no previous indication that he is capable of what we require from him." With that Makima disappeared, leaving the black haired man alone as he kept an eye on Y/N.

The doors wouldn't budge an inch as Y/N attempted to push them apart, eventually causing him to get annoyed and kick one of the doors. The doors opened slightly and while he had hurt his foot, he felt he had triumphed over the door. He then began to push against the doors as they were now slightly ajar, leaving Y/N with enough room to force himself in the gap that had been created. Finally being able to separate the doors enough to enter the mansion Y/N gave a sigh of relief, knowing he wasn't motivated enough to have found another way inside. There were many grade four spirits inside the building that were in hiding due to Y/N's immense cursed energy, he could sense all of them and placed them all as grade four spirits. Y/N was unable to find any trace of the grade two spirits he was informed would be present, the strongest cursed energy he could sense being that of a few mid grade three spirits in the same area of the house. Nothing was amiss as Y/N began conducting a sweep of the building.

The first room he investigated for traces of life being the kitchen downstairs. The state of the building made it difficult for Y/N to believe that anyone had been there in the past month let alone in the past week. As he looked around the kitchen Y/N couldn't see any traces of human life, not even a fingerprint slightly covered by dust. There were of course signs of curses and Y/N could see them clear as day. Some of the signs of curses were the actual spirits themselves and Y/N made quick work of them without thinking twice. Taking out the weaker cursed spirits would make the energy of other stronger spirits more distinct for Y/N to sense. After confirming there was no trace of the missing teens in the kitchen Y/N left and went across the hallway, taking in the details of the mansion. The wallpaper peeled off of the walls, only further showing the age of the mansion and how poorly attended to it was. According to Ijichi, the mansion itself has been abandoned for fifteen years after the owner and their family all died mysteriously, causing rumours about the house itself to spread and keep it unoccupied for all these years.
