Dean
When I woke up the next day, the sun was shining through the windows. Sitting up, I suddenly thought about what happened last night.
I kissed Lily for the first time, and it was just out of nowhere. And honestly, even though it feels weird thinking it, I kinda liked it.
Shaking my head, I stood up, heading over to Sam's room to check on him. He was still asleep, his white skin shining against the sunlight. I was worried about him, since he has the virus. But at least he's still alive, and that's all we can hope for for right now.Heading downstairs, I noticed Lily sitting on the couch, and she looked up when she heard me.
"How's Sam?" She asked, standing up.
"He's fine, just sleeping." I said, leaning against the desk. "So, when are we heading out to fight down more Croats?"
She chuckled. "Eager for another round of fighting, are you?"
Looking over to me, her eyes were a bright blue against the sunlight. "We'll get to it, don't worry. Once Sam wakes up, we'll head out."
I nodded, and she took something out of her leather jacket pocket. Bile rising to my throat, even though it shouldn't make me feel nauseous, I pushed it down as she drank a pack of blood in front of me. She raised an eyebrow at me.
"What? It's what I live off of now." She said, tossing the empty pack away. "Gotta deal with it when I'm around, Dean."
I smirked, rolling my eyes as I sat down on the couch when Lily suddenly tensed up, looking up the stairs.
"What is it?" I asked. She gave me a look as if something was wrong, and I stood back up.
"It's Sam." She said, and sprinted up the stairs in the blink of an eye. Immediately running up there, she was leaning over him, trying to shake him awake.
"Sam, wake up!" She said.
"Wake up!"Going up to him, I shook his other shoulder, desperately trying to wake him up.
"Sammy, wake up, come on man!" I said. "Sammy!"
After a few more tries, he finally woke up, breathing hard. Looking over to us, he definitely looked worse. His eyes were now tinted with red, as if he hasn't gotten sleep in days, his skin still white.
"You alright?" I asked. "We couldn't wake you up."
Sam raised an eyebrow. "Really? I'm fine...I guess."
"Really..because I don't think with your eyes being kinda red is fine." Lily said. Sam immediately stood up, looking at himself in the mirror on the wall. His shoulders tensed as he looked back at us.
"It's getting worse." He said. "I don't know how much time I have left."
"Which is why we need to find these damn Croats, and kill them before they get to you." I said in a serious tone. Heading back downstairs, I grabbed my gun off the desk, making sure it was still loaded.
"Dean, he can't fight like he is." I heard someone say. Turning around, Cass was standing in front of me.
"Yeah well he's a tough guy, he can pull through it." I said.
"Not this time." Cass said. "Dean, he's dying from this virus as we speak. And as you know, he's already getting worse, which means he won't last long in the fight before he turns. And when he does...you'll have no choice but to kill him."
"That won't happen. Not on my watch." I said. "He's not dying on me again."
"And what happens if he does?" Lily asked, walking up to us. "Sometimes, you can't stop it. Especially for this kind of infection, it's spreading fast throughout his body. I would say he has until the end of the week before he dies. Maybe less."
"She's right, Dean." Cass said, giving me a serious look. "You can fight the Croats, but Sam may die during the battle."
"Which is why we need to head out now if you wanna find these things." Lily said, just as Sam slowly walked down the stairs. Giving us a nod, he had his knife in his hand.
"Well..I'm on a time limit now..so let's go find these sons of bitches before the time comes." He said.
We all nodded, and, grabbing our weapons, we headed out to hopefully end this.
