Alex's POV
Luke disappeared after breakfast, I figured he would
likely went to the beach or somewhere to clear his head. I knew he had some feelings for Julie, but I don't know why he's holding back. Maybe he doesn't have the feelings I thought he had, or maybe they weren't as intense as I originally thought. She's not locked in to anything with Nick, even if she had a good date, I think Luke still has a shot if he gets off his butt and does something about it.Reg and I hung out like normal, went to the studio to play darts and jam, and video games. He rewatched a couple of Star Wars movies while I checked out Instagram. "Do you think Julie wants pizza for lunch?" Reg asked, his eyes trained on the tv screen. "I have no idea Reg, she's at school maybe they have pizza today." Shaking my head, Reggie is a really weird guy sometimes. "No, she's upstairs." He replied casually, making me put the phone down. "What do you mean?"
"She never went to school. She went upstairs after Luke left. Did you not know that?" He turned to look at me with a cocked eyebrow. "No, Reg. I didn't. Something must be wrong, one of us-." I Looked at him, he was already paying attention to the tv again, tossing a cheeto into the air, trying to catch it.. It hit him in the eye. "I'll go check on her."
Julie's POV
A knocking woke me from the nap I hadn't realized that I had fallen into. Inhaling deeply, I stretched and sat up in my bed, the blanket tucked up to my chin, fell to my lap. Blinking, I looked at the clock on my side table, 2:04 pm, I was asleep for a while. The knock came again.
"Come in." I called to the door, pulling my legs up underneath me to sit cross legged on the bed. The door slowly cracked open, Alex peeking through before opening it all the way and coming in. He's overly cautious about boundaries, well mine at least. "Hey, Jules. What's goin on? I didn't even realize you were home." He stuffed his hands into the pocket of his jeans and shuffled over to my bed, perching on the edge.
"Yeah, uh, I wasn't feeling great." Pulling my sleeves down and resting my elbows on my knees, Alex arched his brow at me. "Are you sick? Or is this more of a... Luke problem?" I just sighed for a second. "No, not Luke. Well not all Luke anyways." Alex took his hands out of his pockets and leaned back on them. "Jules, what's going on?" I didn't answer him, picking under my fingernails. "Jules, please."
My eyes burned, I could feel the tears rising in my eyes at Alex's soft tone, my eyes stuck on my hands as the first few tears fell. "You're going to think less of me."
"Julie, that's not possible. You don't have to tell me, I just hope you would." Alex placed his hand over mine, stilling them. Looking up at Alex, the tears and words all fell out, I told him exactly how the date went, how I was embarrassed that I probably led him on. Alex's fingers tightened around my hand. "Julie, you didn't do anything to deserve being grabbed like that." I released a sob, feeling relief rush over me as Alex wrapped his arms around me, my tears falling into his shirt.
"Why didn't you tell me the first time I asked how your date went?" Alex stroked my hair, trying to calm me down. "I just thought it was my fault." Sniffling, I pulled away from Alex and wiped my eyes on my sleeve. "Still wish you'd told me or one of us. Luke, Reggie, someone."
I couldn't help but laugh. "Reggie isn't exactly mature and Luke... he said some stuff before leaving today that really confused me." I grabbed a tissue from the box on my side table, wiping my nose a little. "What did he say? Something stupid I bet." Alex wiped his own cheeks, I guess he's a sympathetic crier. "He said he thought we had something, whatever that means. I mean, I think maybe he just is using this as an out, he found this song I wrote, in my dream box. I think he may think it's about him or something, you know, crazy like that. Or maybe he thinks I'm some crush crazed girl, all obsessed about some bad boy rocker." Laughing, wiping away stay tears from my cheeks.
