A/N: I have no motivation I wrote this at an ungodly hour don't come for me

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I shook my headphones, trying to untangle them. How was this even possible they'd only been sitting in my pocket for 10 minutes. By the time I plugged in my music most of the kids had left school already, with just a few stragglers waiting behind.
I started on my walk home and over my music I heard the loud rev of a motorbike. I took out one headphone to work out what direction it was coming from so I could move to the way.
Before I'd even turned my head around the noise got to loud, and an arm grabbed my waist as suddenly I was flung behind someone, thrust onto the bike, whipped forward.
I started to scream but a heavy rush of air caught me coughing for my life. I grabbed around the waist of the stranger in front of me,it was a better option than falling backwards off the bike moving at least 120km an hour.
I squint to the side, weighing up whether or not I should tuck and roll off the side of the road, but the view of everything rushing by as we sped past made my stomach lurch.
"PUT ME DOWN.....PLEASE", I try screaming in the air of the stranger, but I got no response, a few strands of their red hair whipping my face sharply.
We were only going for around 5 more minutes, which was not enough time to think up an escape plan. We came to a very abrupt halt and I lurched forward, my head hitting the strangers back, hard.
"bitch", I whispered as they stood up. They took off their helmet and I was not expecting to see a woman. Her fiery red hair was just below her shoulders and she stared at me curiously.
"You're young", she noted.
"Well spotted", I grumbled, rubbing my head. "What was all that about?"
She doesn't answer my question, she walks over and grabs my arm, marching me to some room. "You don't look like a threat"
I pause, not knowing what to say. "Uhm, with all due respect woman, you seem like more of a threat"
She hummed in response and walked out. I ran up to the door, but the handle just wiggled. Fuck.
Panic started to set in. I started screaming, slamming the door with all the force I could. In a matter of seconds, it opened and the redhead rushed in, grabbing my arms mid-air.
"What are you doing you idiot?!", she hissed. I paused for long enough to look and see blood slowly falling down my arms.
She pulled me to the steel seat in the middle of the room and unwound a bandage she had in her jacket. I stared at her silently as she fixed me up. She didn't seem so scary and intimidating up close.
"We're not killing you, you're just being asked some questions so for the love of god stop", she breathed, looking up and meeting my eyes.
"And I suppose you couldnt've mentioned this sooner?" I asked and she said nothing, just sat in the seat opposite me.
"Y/n Y/l/n?"
"Yes"
"I don't understand, you've been brought here after being deemed a threat to the S.H.I.E.L.D organisation"
"The what now who?"
She rolled her eyes. "Fury sent me after the wrong person".
I nod slowly, raising my eyebrows. "Well that's kinda embarrassing".
She didn't seem at all impressed, she just raised a single eyebrow and sat silently staring at me.
"Sooo, what happens now? Can I leave?", I ask.
She sighed. "Not technically, no".
Oh. I scratch my neck, my mind reeling. This had all passed by in such a blur, somehow I didn't feel very afraid. Then of course I remembered my parents.
"Can you at least let me text my parents? If I dont tell them where I am they'll worry, and then get mad, and I'll never hear the end of it.".
She scrunched up her face, for the millionth time. "How old are you?".
"17". I expected a response or reaction but her face stayed the exact same. I didn't even get a grunt of recognition, she reminded me of my mother when i ask her a question if she's on her phone...absoluetly nothing.
It took a good minute for her to say something again. "If you leave now, you can be out the building before anyones due to clock on. I'll book you a taxi, or something"
"I can walk", I offer, standing up but she doesn't respond, just whips out her phone. "or...not"
After a silent few minutes she stands up too. "Change of plans. I'll give you a ride back".
"in a car?", I ask hopefully and she just walks out, gesturing for me to follow her. "or...not"
One hellish motorbike ride later, which consisted largely of me holding on for dear life, she pulled up on my street, parking near the end. I was tempted to ask how she knew where I lived, but decided against it, at this rate she probably wouldn't even answer.
As we came to a stop at the end of my street, I practically fell off the bike, gasping for breath and feeling like my legs had turned to jelly. My heart was still pounding in my chest from the ride. Natasha—she hadn't introduced herself, but I knew who she was now, thanks to the whole "S.H.I.E.L.D. thing"—dismounted calmly, as if this was just another day for her.
I took a shaky step forward, rubbing my arms where the bandages she'd wrapped earlier were tight. She watched me for a moment before turning her gaze toward the street. The silent air between us felt awkward, but also oddly... comfortable.
"Thanks," I mumbled, tugging the sleeves of my jacket down.
"You alright?" she asked, not turning to look at me but her tone was softer now, less cold.
"Yeah, just... rattled," I admitted, shifting my feet. "I mean, not every day you're kidnapped by an Avenger and accused of being a national threat."
There was the smallest twitch at the corner of her mouth. Not quite a smile, but close enough. She glanced down the street. "Look, kid, it was a mistake. You're not in any danger. Fury gets paranoid sometimes." She paused, her eyes finally landing on me. "But... if I were you, I'd keep your head down for a while."
That didn't exactly ease my nerves, but her tone was almost... protective? I couldn't quite place it. She was rough around the edges, sure, but there was something underneath that made me feel like she wasn't just saying it to scare me.
Then, to my surprise, she reached out, briefly touching my arm where the bandages were. Her fingers were gentle, checking to make sure everything was okay.
"I'll keep an eye on you," she said quietly, her voice almost soft. "You're not out of the woods yet."
I felt a strange warmth in that moment—like underneath all the steel and sharp edges, there was something more. She let go quickly, retreating back into her no-nonsense demeanor.
"Now get inside," she ordered, stepping back toward the bike. "I've got somewhere to be."
"Will I see you again?" I asked, half-joking, half-serious.
She threw me one last glance before pulling her helmet back on. "Not if you stay out of trouble, kid."
And just like that, she was gone—roaring down the street as fast as she'd come. I stood there on my porch, the night air cool against my skin, thinking about how strange the past few hours had been. I wasn't sure if I'd just made a friend or an enemy.
