summer conklin is the older sister of steven and belly conklin. she'd been going to her mother's best friend's beach house in cousins since she was born.
she loved playing softball and even got accepted to stanford for it. she also loved surfing, swimming, and the beach.
everything about the summer just excited her. that's her name, after all. she was a summer girl. always has been, but won't always be due to some unfortunate events that would happen in the future.
summer has only loved one boy her entire life. well, two, but while she was dating one of them, the other still had her heart.
summer had met her on-and-off boyfriend, jason brown, after freshman year of high school in the summer they've been on-and-off after their second date at the end of her freshman year during the summer. they were usually together the whole summer and would be on-and-off until summer started again.
not this time. this time, it would be different. the whole summer would be different.
her best friend also lived down in cousins. alison. they've been best friends since the second they met. she had friends back at home, but not ones like ali.
the other boy. conrad fisher. he was her mother's, laurel, best friend's, susannah, son.
there was just this charm about him that compelled her.
conrad had always liked summer (summer conklin that is but he still liked the season), he thought she was beautiful and quite funny. he also loved how dedicated she was to everything she did.
conrad enjoyed fishing, surfing, swimming, late night hangouts/car rides, and football, in which he had quit before the upcoming summer (not conklin) had started.
the only issue was that belly, summer's little sister, had been in love with conrad since forever. everyone knew how in love she was. she was all heart-eyes for him. her heart beat for conrad fisher, so both conrad and summer knew it wouldn't be good for them to get together, so they didn't. neither of them would ever confess their feelings.
or would they?
maybe they would get together and keep it a secret.
this summer was going to be different. this summer would change everything about their lives. and all summer would need was on the other side of the door.
