"Kept aloft by the latest in antigravitational propulsion. She is in constant motion as a precaution against those who otherwise might have nefarious plans." The bus driver spoke in what I could only describe as a reporters voice.
Penny described Sky High to me many times, but I didn't truly understand what she meant until now.
"Her location supplied only to a few highly qualified individuals, such as myself, Ron Wilson, bus driver."
The bus prepares to land, and it does with a few hiccups.
"Sorrrry!" Ron calls out sheepishly.
I stood up and began to walk out of the bus. "Word of advice, don't miss the bus, 'cause the bus waits for no one." He points at me and Will as we exit the bus, "Except for you, Paula, and Will!"
"You guys ever running late, running early, or you just want to talk... give me a call." He hands Will two cards, and Will hands me one.
"Thanks, Ron!" Will calls out.
And I send Ron a polite smile before walking with the rest of the group toward the gigantic school.
I'm shocked as I take in the crowds of kids displaying their superpowers with such confidence. I notice Penny and her duplicates almost immediately.
"Woo, we're number one Sky High," Penny finishes her cheer in excitement as her doppelgangers merge into her with a pixie dust-like effect.
I clap excitedly, gaining her attention, and she sends me a wave. I guess the group notices our small interaction. "Are you guys twins?" Zach calls out confused as I feel eyes turn to me. I give him a nod, answering his question.
"Thats awesome!" the dark-skinned boy with an orange shirt calls out.
"Thank you! What's your name again?" I question curiously.
"Ethan, but my friends call EJ," he sends me a smirk, but it soon drops as Magenta pops him in the back of his head.
"Nobody calls you that."
A small laugh escapes my lips. "It's nice to meet you," I say genuinely.
Out of nowhere, the group starts getting pushed into a tight circle, and a blurry thing spins around us. I grab Magenta's hand in shock, and she gives it a light squeeze. I feel the sensation to teleport, but the spinning stops before I can.
"Hey freshman, your attention, please," a heavy-set boy speaks out as another boy stretches his body and appears in front of us.
"I'm Lash, and uh, this is Speed," the tall, lanky one speaks while patting his friend's shoulder. "And as representatives of the Sky High welcoming commits."
His friend finishes his sentence. "We would be happy to collect that $15 dollar new student fee." Lash then stretches his abnormally long arm out in front of Ethan.
