Finally, Antara opened her eyes. "Huh, where am I?" she murmured, her voice barely audible. As her vision cleared, her eyes widened in shock. Memories of the last incident came flooding back—the screeching tires, the blinding headlights, and the sudden, jarring impact."Oh my God, did I faint after that?" she thought. Her thoughts were interrupted by her aunt's voice.
"Antara, are you okay?" her aunt asked with concern.
"Yes, Aunt, I am fine, but who brought me here?" Antara inquired, still piecing together the events.
"One of the prince's guards came here carrying you, saying that you fainted near the prince's chamber," her aunt explained.
"Oh," Antara replied, her mind racing with questions.
"Take care, my child," said her aunt, patting her head gently. Antara nodded, appreciating the comfort but feeling the weight of her thoughts pressing down on her
Antara took a deep breath and rested, allowing her mind to wander over the past incidents. Each memory played out vividly in her thoughts, but she shrugged them off. Suddenly, a weird thought surfaced, catching her off guard. She shook her head vigorously, trying to dispel it. "No, I can't think like that," she murmured to herself, determined to stay focused and not let her imagination run wild.
"Huh,why am I thinking that the prince should have brought me here and not his servant?" Antara mused, chastising herself. "Yes, I am a mere servant ,why should he bring me here. Moreover, I should stay away from him from now on. I should call myself a fool for going near him even after seeing everything," she thought to herself, a wave of frustration and resolve washing over her. Determined to keep her distance, Antara knew she had to navigate her place in the palace more carefully from now on.
In the prince's chamber
A soldier approached the prince. "Hail, Prince Abhimanyu Arjun," he said, bowing respectfully.
"Did that woman wake up?" the prince inquired.
The soldier, head still bowed, replied, "Yes, Prince. After you took the woman to the workers' quarters, I informed her aunt that she fainted near your chamber."
"Okay, you may go," Prince Abhimanyu dismissed him with a nod. As the soldier departed, the prince's thoughts lingered on the incident. "This woman is strange. Why do I feel like she is not a normal one?" he pondered, unable to shake the feeling that there was more to Antara than met the eye.
Soon, it was dinner time, and the royal members gathered around the grand table, where an array of delicious foods was served. Everyone was enjoying their meal, the room filled with lively chatter and clinking cutlery. That's when Prince Abhimanyu noticed that Antara was absent. He briefly wondered about her, but quickly dismissed the thought
Antara had her dinner and tried to sleep, but she couldn't. Her mind kept replaying the scenes from the morning, making it impossible to rest.
"I think if I get some fresh air, I might sleep," she thought. She stood up from her bed and started walking towards the corridors of the palace.
