"John." A familiar voice, low and somewhat anxious, rang in his ears, "John?"

John slowly opened his eyes and rolled his eyes in a daze - he found that he fell face down on the cold floor, sticking to the ground. My left cheek hurt, and my wand fell not far away.

John slowly got up and wiped his face.

——His face was actually covered with tears.

Snape was half-kneeling in front of him, his dark eyes looking at him worriedly.

"It's normal that you can't summon him on your first try. You don't need to work so hard." Snape frowned and said in disapproval.

John looked around dully and replied: "...ah. But...what's wrong with me?"

With a rustling sound, Snape stood up and walked to the table: "You were practicing the Patronus Charm, but suddenly I lost consciousness, as if I was in a nightmare, and I couldn't wake up."

He searched for a while on the messy desk, took out a small piece of chocolate, and then walked over and handed it to John, who was still sitting on the floor in a daze.

...It turns out...it's a dream.

John looked at his palm. It was intact and had no wounds, but the sharp pain that pierced his palm clearly still remained in his heart.

He looked at Snape again, who was still handing out chocolates - his expression was dull, but the eyes he looked at him were still warm, unlike in the dream where he had become defensive and distant after being confessed.

John took it in a daze, peeled off the wrapping paper and took a bite, feeling somewhat enlightened.

...Fortunately, it was just a dream.

Fortunately, he hasn't confessed yet.

John took another bite of chocolate and couldn't help but smile.

If he revealed his feelings for Severus, the consequences would be terrible - he had always known this.

But he was very unwilling and still had illusions in his heart. What if Severus accepted him?

But now, the fantasy is broken.

John glanced at the wand gratefully.

——He was still filled with immense regret and sadness, but now he suddenly realized that nothing had happened yet!

The strong sense of joy made him very happy, but also very frightened.

"Severus?" he called.

"...?"

Snape said nothing, but his eyes had already turned around, and he was waiting for him to say with some confusion.

In the thick white steam floating out of the cauldron, Snape's face looked unclear and much softer. John traced his facial features with his eyes...so familiar that his eyes were always searching involuntarily.

Therefore, the dream just now must be a hint from God.

John made up his mind, so he asked with a smile: "Has the refreshing potion been ready? I can't stand the nasal sound anymore!"

- He will never...never express his feelings to Severus in the future.

That's good now. They lived together, and Severus knew exactly what he was thinking. They were at peace with each other.

If it really ended up in the same situation as in the dream, he wouldn't be able to accept it.

...

Snape glanced at the potion that was about to be completed in the crucible, and looked up at John suspiciously.

——John was stuck in his own thoughts, his face looked sad at times and happy at other times.

Very strange.

Snape recalled the scene inquiringly.

John actually couldn't wake up no matter what, he seemed to have fallen into a deep coma, but his face was full of tears, very sad.

The Patronus Charm requires recalling one's happiest memories. Or only when you have a strong desire to protect can you release your own guardian angel.

But what about memories of happy things that suddenly turn sad? Could this spell go awry?

John...did he think of the past?

Snape frowned.

He suddenly found that he knew nothing about John's past.

The medicine is finally ready.

Instead of putting away the extra refreshments, Snape placed three thin glass bottles in front of John.

"Drink it."

"So much?!" John stuttered, startled.

Snape said nothing.

John shrugged and drank one bottle after another.

Large streams of steam immediately came out of his ears, and his head turned red and made a "buzzing" sound, like a locomotive.

But what followed was that the fatigue was swept away. The drowsiness and discomfort caused by a severe cold have all disappeared, and the excitement caused by great joy and sorrow has also begun to fade away, and my whole body feels as warm as being soaked in hot water.

John let out a long, comfortable sigh and stuffed the last few bites of chocolate into his mouth.

"Severus, I'm going to sleep for a while..." He muttered and fell down on the bed. After closing his eyes, he vaguely heard Snape's response.

John raised a satisfied smile on his lips and fell into a dark and sweet dream.

Indeed, that would be fine.
