|Jisoo|
A week has passed since Jennie and I got married and so far it has been smooth sailing. Nothing has happened to set off an argument between me and Jennie.
Well....there is the fact that Jennie hasn't spoken to me much since then.
I think it was the night of when I told her that we wouldn't be sleeping in the same bed even if we got married.
She might have taken offense to that but for crying out loud, I don't know the woman very well and she doesn't seem to like me as a person!
She only likes my body and I'm not going to sleep with someone that just lusts after me! Especially if that someone is my wife!
I grip the steering wheel tighter.
Saying Jennie is my wife is still bizarre to me like the woman hates me with her whole heart but only plays along because of her sweet mom.
I don't fault her in hating me. There will always be someone in this world that you'll hate but I was not expecting my wife to!
I hear cars honking behind me and I scoff. I open my window and stick out my middle finger as I shout, "CAN'T YOU SEE IT'S A FUCKING RED—" I look front at the green light.
I pull my hand back in and press on the gas pedal.
In all honesty, Jennie is just taking up waaaay too much space in my head.
And I hate it!
When I finally drive into my work and park the car, I get inside and sit down. Then immediately Irene comes up to me and asks, "Doyouhavea dateforthegalathisweekend?"
I'm momentarily blindsided by rushed sentence. I turn around to face her a bit but I remember the yelling from my boss so I pretend to be standing papers as I ask with a smile, "Could you repeat that a bit slower Irene?"
"Oh! Ummm....yes! Umm....Do you have a....Are you going to the gala this weekend?" She asks.
I freeze and look at her in confusion. "Gala?"
She nods with a smile. "Yes! The charity gala the company is hosting! Are you going?!"
I frown. "That isn't until—" I widen my eyes and cover my left hand over my mouth in shock. "Shoot! I completely forgot! I don't have anything to wear! I need to get a dress and—" I move my hand into my hair and mess it up.
"I-It's okay Jisoo...umm...." She bends down a bit and whispers, "Did you get...married...last weekend?"
I stare at my left hand and—fuck my life
I forgot to take off my wedding ring this morning.
She moves away a bit and I nod with a smile. "Yes."
Her lips part into a small circle. "Oh! I didn't.... I thought you were single."
I chuckle and bounce an eyebrow. "Apparently not."
She nods and swallows. "Okay then. I guess....I guess I'll see you at the gala."
I nod. "Same here! Have a good day Irene! Well, unless I see you again!"
She gives me a half-hearted smile and I hold her hand with concern. "Is everything okay?"
Irene nods with a cheerful smile. "It's going great! Have a good day Jisoo!"
I feel like I did something but Irene doesn't seem to want to share so I lift my hand off and wave her goodbye.
I go back to my work while the gears in the back of my head work to figure out a what I need to wear in two days.
