Jisoo and I are going on our second date.

I consider our first date to be at the gym and after nearly 2 months, we are finally going on our second date.

I wanted to look nice so I let my hair down and wore a sky blue silk, slip-on dress that's figure-hugging and pretty. It has a deep V-neck with a slit going up slightly above my left knee.

I stand by the front door, biting my lower lip as I stare at the ground with feet digging into my heels.

I've never been more nervous in my life.

"You look like you want to scream your head off."

I lift my head up and I'm met with Jisoo walking towards me in a black jumper that fits her body. She left her hair down and wore pearl drop earrings.

I hold my earlobes. "I forgot earrings!"

She laughs and holds my wrists, bringing them away from my face. She slides her hands down and grasps them tightly.

"Why are you so nervous? You were much smoother on our 3 first-dates," she says with a smirk.

I smile and say, "You weren't the love of my life then."

I see her cheeks turn pink and she stares at our linked hands between us as she squeezes my fingers. "You're smooth even when you aren't trying."

I grin widely. "I guess you could say that...I'm a smooth criminal?"

Jisoo lifts her head up and frowns in confusion before she lets go to smack her forehead. "That.... Wow!" She laughs and I beam with pride.

"That was a horrible joke," she tells me with a smile as she drops her arms to her sides.

I widen my eyes. "What are you talking about?! That was fantastic! Why are you laughing then?"

She leans forward with her dark eyes staring into mine and says, "Because it was so dumb I had to laugh."

"You...." I start to curse before I decide on leaning forward and kissing her once. She melts and I pull away.

She blinks quickly. "That's...not fair."

"So is pretending to think I'm funny—AND YET HERE WE ARE!" I say with a flourish of my arms.

Jisoo straightens and rolls her eyes with a playful smile. "Okay. Let's just go to the restaurant."

I kiss her cheek and when I try to move away again, she pulls me back for a deeper kiss on the lips.

When we get to the elegant restaurant, the hostess seats us at our reserved table and Jisoo opens the menu.

I have been here before so I know what I'm getting and I just watch Jisoo's beautiful eyes scan the menu for something she wants.

I don't know how long I watch her until the waitress comes over and I shake myself out. Jisoo orders and then I do before we're left alone.

"Jisoo—"

"Jennie—"

We hold each other's gazes for a moment before laughing and I say, "You go first."

Jisoo nods and leans forward with her arms crossed on the table. "I...I hope you're okay with it. But...could you explain everything? All this? Why are you so different?"

I nod and blow out a breath. "Okay. Here it goes." Jisoo gives me a comforting smile.

"Ever since my father introduced me to his lucrative business at the age of 18, I have had a massive headache start at the beginning of each day. And it didn't help that my father put constant pressure on me to take it over." I take a shaky breath and drink some water before staring at the tablecloth and picking at it.
