Jungwon |

We all sat in the living room, the weight of the silence pressing down on us. Everyone was lost in their own thoughts, worry etched on their faces. I glanced around at the others, feeling a heavy burden on my heart.

Heeseung finally broke the silence, his voice calm but serious. "We need to protect Jungwon more than ever now. Yeonjun is still out there, and he could be the next target."

"I should stay here? For how long?" I asked, my voice rising with panic. "I need to go back home. My parents will kill me if I don't."

Silence filled the room again, the tension palpable. Heeseung turned to me, his expression stern.

"Is your safety not more important than what your parents think? Do you want to risk your life, Jungwon?"

I sighed deeply, knowing he was right. It was dangerous, and Yeonjun wouldn’t leave me alone. "I know it's dangerous," I admitted. "But you mentioned that a human can't stay in the vampire world for too long."

Sunghoon nodded. "That's true, but there's a drink that would allow you to stay longer. It’s not ideal, but it’s our best option right now."

I looked around the room, feeling the gravity of the situation. "So, I stay here, drink this potion, and wait for all of this to be over?"

Sunoo nodded. "Yes, it's the safest option for you."

I took a deep breath, trying to process everything. "We need to focus on finding Yeonjun and stopping him."

Jake leaned forward, his expression determined. "We're already working on that. But your safety is a priority. Yeonjun won't stop until he gets what he wants."

Sunoo spoke up, his voice filled with concern. "Jungwon, we can’t risk to lose you. We need to stay together and be strong."

I looked at each of them, seeing the worry and determination in their eyes. "Okay," I said finally. "I'll stay. But we need to act quickly. We need to find Yeonjun before he hurts anyone else."

Heeseung nodded, relief washing over his face. "We'll do everything we can to stop him. For now, you need to rest and let us handle this."

I nodded, feeling a sense of resolve settle in my chest. We would get through this together. "Thank you," I said quietly. "For everything."

Hours later, everyone was busy with their tasks. Jake and Ni-ki were hunched over some books, deep in research, their brows furrowed in concentration. Sunoo was tending to Jay, who looked pale but seemed to be recovering slowly.

Heeseung sat across from me, his eyes locked on mine as he explained everything that had happened.

"We captured Yeonjun and brought him to a vampire prison in our world," Heeseung began.

"It’s a secure facility, designed to hold even the most powerful vampires. But somehow, he managed to escape. We believe he found a way to teleport out."

I nodded slowly. "How could he do that? Is there a way to track him?"

Heeseung sighed, running a hand through his hair. "We're still trying to figure out how he managed it. There might be someone helping him. We’re looking into every possibility."

I glanced over at Jake and Ni-ki. "Are they trying to find a way to track him?"

"Yes," Heeseung confirmed. "They're looking into any records or clues that might give us an idea of his whereabouts or his next move. We have to be one step ahead."

If Yeonjun had escaped from a high-security prison, he was more dangerous than I had realized. "Do you think he's coming after me because of something specific?"

Heeseung's expression darkened. "Yeonjun seems to be obsessed with you. He probably sees you as a key to achieving his goals, but we won't let him succeed. We'll protect you, no matter what."

Sunoo walked over, having finished tending to Jay. "Jay's stable for now. How are you holding up, Jungwon?"

I took a deep breath, feeling the weight of their concern. "I'm scared, but I know we need to stay strong and work together. We can't let Yeonjun win."

Sunoo nodded, placing a comforting hand on my shoulder. "We won't. We're in this together."

That night, unable to sleep, I found myself wandering the quiet corridors of the house. My steps led me to Jay's room.

I needed to talk to him, even if he couldn't respond.

I stepped into the room and sat down beside him, gently holding his hand. He lay there, still unconscious, but I felt a need to speak to him, to clear my thoughts.

"Jay," I began softly, my voice trembling. "I don't know if you can hear me, but I need to talk to you. I feel so lost right now, and I wish you were awake to give me some advice."

I squeezed his hand, hoping somehow he could feel my presence. "This is all so overwhelming. Yeonjun is out there, and I'm scared. Scared for you, for everyone. I keep thinking that if it weren't for me, you wouldn't be in this condition."

A tear slipped down my cheek, and I quickly wiped it away. "But Heeseung and the others are right. We have to stay strong and work together. We can't let Yeonjun win."

I paused, taking a shaky breath. "I'm staying here, Jay. I'm not running away. We're going to find a way to stop him, and we're going to protect each other. I just need you to wake up. We need you."

The room was silent except for the soft hum of the night. I looked at Jay's peaceful face, willing him to recover soon. "I promise, we’ll get through this. Together."

With one last squeeze of his hand, I stood up and quietly left the room. As I headed back to my own, I felt a small sense of relief. Talking to Jay, even if he couldn't hear me, had
given me some strength to keep fighting.

As we sat around the table, eating breakfast, I could see the exhaustion on everyone's faces. The events of the past days had taken a toll on all of us.

"I came up with a plan last night," Jake revealed.

I put down my fork, my heart skipping a beat. "What kind of plan?"

.....

Sunghoon frowned. "That sounds incredibly dangerous, Jake. How do you propose we do that?"

My stomach dropped. "Isn't that too dangerous?" I asked, my voice shaky.

Heeseung nodded in agreement. "Jake, this could put Jungwon at even greater risk."

Jake's eyes were steely. "I know it's risky, but Yeonjun is obsessed with him. It's the only way to draw him out."

Sunoo looked between Jake and me, his face pale. "Jake, we can't lose Jungwon. Are you sure this is the only way?"

Jake took a deep breath. "I've thought it through. We need to end this."

I felt a mix of fear and resolve settling in my chest. "If this is the best way to stop him, then I'll do it," I said, my voice firmer than I felt.

Heeseung sighed, rubbing his temples. "It's a dangerous plan, but Jake is right. We have to do something before Yeonjun makes another move."

Jake smiled slightly, appreciating the support. "We'll plan every detail. We'll make sure Jungwon is safe."

I looked around at my friends, seeing the worry and determination in their eyes. "Let's do it then. Let's end this once and for all."
