I lean forward as I slowly drive through the part of town where Derek is most likely being held hostage. I had instructed Stiles to call, or text is he had found anything about where they were keeping him.

My hands grip the wheel tightly as I think about Kate and Allison - first they had killed Derek's entire family and now they kidnap and torture him for no reason? The area is pretty rough and there are only a few small businesses around this area of town, but they're all closed by now since it's the middle of the night.

I know that I owe Derek for everything that he has done for me; saving my life at the old Hale house, saving my brother and letting him stay in the basement without doing anything, swearing to protect me, my brother, and my sisters - and promising that he wouldn't hurt Melissa, Scott, or Stiles, intentionally.

But there's just something else. I don't know how to explain it. It feels as if there's some pull between us because of something Peter called the mate bod. I can only assume it means something like soulmates but in werewolf terms - okay that is one sentence I never imagined myself saying.

"Where are you?" I lean forward and try to get a better look past my windshield.

There is absolutely nothing outside that I can see, at least nothing that can lead me to where Derek is. I let out a loud sigh and sit back in my seat, placing my hands over my face - I'm exhausted and haven't slept for twenty-four hours, and I know I won't be resting until he's found.

...

I strip off my jacket and hang it up as soon as I get back to the house. To me it's not just about finding Derek, it's also about keeping Nina and Diego and Melissa and Stiles safe from Peter. He had threatened me in public proving that he will go through any lengths to get his way, including murdering everyone I cared about which he had been proven to like killing people.

"Melissa?" I call, reaching the stairs as I pull my shoes off. "Scott? Who's home?"

It's the day of the big formal at the high school, so it's an important day for Scott and for Nina. "You're home late." I jump when Scott appears at the top of the stairs, scaring the life out of me.

"I was out." I begin up the stairs.

"Searching for Derek?" Scott presses me further, I shoot him a look. "You should stay away from him. He's dangerous."

"Not as dangerous as Peter." I reply as I pass Scott. "And he saved our lives, shouldn't we at least do the same?"

I turn around to face Scott. "If this is about making things right with Derek it doesn't matter. He attacked you once and he'll do it again." Scott had followed me down the hallway.

"No he won't, he'll be focusing on killing Peter." I head into my room.

"If he's willing to kill Peter then he's willing to kill us." Scott objects, reaching my doorway.
