It has been three months since everything that happened - with Kate and my mother. Three months since Derek's become the Alpha and since Diego has left Beacon Hills. I haven't heard from Diego since then, nobody has. Jackson told me that Diego has a fake ID - a good one, so I'm convinced that he's left town to follow his dreams - he's always wanted to start his own business from the ground up - he took his inheritance with him.
I've still been living in Melissa and Scott's house, since I've already settled in, and our parents' home has never been a home to me. Abuela Rosalina has taken custody over Nina and moved into our parents' house, which Nina and I inherited. Everything was split between me and Nina, considering we were their children and their closest living relatives. Even though they didn't like us, I think dad preferred the house and everything else would go to us rather than Tio Alejandro.
Derek helped Abuela move in, of course, using his werewolf strength to do the brunt of the work. It was very attractive, to see him with his bulging muscles, carrying in the heaviest of things as if it weighed nothing at all. Of course, he knew every single one of my thoughts, since we were fully bonded now.
"So, you're saying that you want to build a pack." I ask Derek, standing in front of the bathroom mirror as I do my facial care routine. "Did you ask Scott to join?"
Derek nods his head as he walks up behind me. "He was very adamant about not joining my pack." I roll my eyes.
"He views you as a bad guy after you killed your uncle, he'll get over it." I don't care if Scott can hear me or not, besides, I think he's at lacrosse practice. "Have you chosen anyone?"
"I'm choosing those who want to become a werewolf, I'm not having them join me by force." Derek sighs, "You can't exactly walk up to someone and ask them if they want to be a werewolf."
I nod, slowly, "You can. . .if you find the right person." Derek's arms wrap around my waist.
"You know someone?" I nod my head.
"I know someone who might be willing to join our pack." I turn around to face him, "And I know someone who's definitely willing to join - but shouldn't."
Derek moves away from me. "You're talking about Jackson." Derek had expressed interest in biting Jackson ever since he became an Alpha.
"He's an asshole, have you seen how he treats Lydia?" I scoff, "If he can't treat his own girlfriend right, then he's not going to treat the pack right."
Derek's smirk drops. "I bit him." My eyes widen.
"Are you fucking kidding me?!" I can't help my reaction, nor can I help how loud I just said that.
"I did it two days after." Derek lets out a sigh. "I'm sorry. We don't have to accept him into the pack."
I let out a scoff and turn back to face the mirror. "I doubt that asshole will join the pack though. Especially since he's not the one shouting orders." God, Jackson was so entitled.
