"Oh, shoot!" Y/n gasps as her contact falls into the sink. She rushes to try and pick it up but is too late. She watches in sadness as it gets washed down the drain.

Normally she's so careful with her contacts. She always is gentle and very aware of her surroundings. Today, though, she was careless because she was trying to put them in quickly. Loki wants to eat breakfast with her, but she woke up later than she intended. She was trying to make up for lost time by not spending as long as normal getting ready for the day. Now all she has is an empty sink and one less contact.

"Well, it's a good thing I have more," she mutters as she reaches for the container her contacts are in. She opens it, expecting to find contacts, but only finds empty air. "You've got to be kidding me! Out of all days to be out of contacts, it has to be today?!"

A loud sigh leaves her mouth as she tosses the empty container into the trash. "Well, that's not going to help me now," she grumpily declares. There's not much she can do. She can't see well at all without her contacts. Everything is blurry and tends to look the same.

She glances around the room, wondering what she can do, until her eyes land on a pair of glasses. They're a very normal looking pair with a plain black rim. She hasn't worn those glasses in ages. She used to wear them all the time but stopped after she was continually laughed at by her old friends.

Loki just became her boyfriend a couple of weeks ago. There's no way someone as handsome and powerful as him will want to stay with her if he sees her wearing those old things. She can't miss their breakfast date, though. She would never forgive herself if she did.

She will go to breakfast with him, whether she can see or not. There's no way she's wearing those glasses, though. She'd rather stumble, trip, and run into things instead of lose Loki.

As she goes to leave her room, she hesitates at the doorway. Before she can double think what she's doing, she slips the glasses inside her pant's pocket. It can't hurt to hold onto them.

Although she can only make out shapes and not actual objects, she somehow manages to make it to the elevator. She only ran into a wall twice. That's better than she did when she refused to admit that she actually did need contacts when she was diagnosed with bad vision. Back then, she ran into every wall within the vicinity.

"Hey, Loki," she greets as soon as the elevator opens. She can't actually see where he is, so she just hopes he's somewhere close by.

"Ah, hello, darling," Loki's voice greets her. It comes from her left, so that's the direction she turns. She can just make out the blurry shape of a man, who she assumes is Loki. He's holding something in his hands, which is either a book or a cat. Considering Tony doesn't allow animals in his tower, she's going to go ahead and assume it's a book.

"It's nice to, um, hear your voice this morning," she politely responds. Loki furrows his brows at her odd choice of words. "So have you decided where we're going for breakfast?"

"There's this restaurant Stark told me about a while ago. I think he called it Cracker Barrel. I was thinking we could go there." Loki watches Y/n's face for any negative reaction to his suggestion.

Instead of a negative response, Y/n's face lights up with excitement. "That's a great choice! Cracker Barrel has great food!"

Loki chuckles quietly as he finds joy from his girlfriend's happy expression. "I'm glad you find my choice agreeable. Why don't you grab your jacket and we can get going?"
