A/n: I'm soooooo sorry this took me over two months to write! I promise I didn't forget about it! I've just been so swamped with school and work. I've barely gotten more than two hours of sleep each night for the past month. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it! Thank you for being patient!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~"Yo, Steve. What's for breakfast?" Y/n questions as she enters the kitchen area of the compound.
"Some good 'ole fashion pancakes and crispy bacon," Steve replies without even glancing back at her.
She takes a second to think about that before shrugging. "Sounds good to me." The chair screeches across the floor as she pulls it out to sit.
"Good morning, everyone!" a voice calls out from the hallway. Steve and Y/n turn around simultaneously at the sound of Tony's voice.
"Good morning, Stark," Natasha briefly greets as she also enters the kitchen. She barely pays him any attention, though, as she passes him to reach the coffee. It's become a sort of tradition for Steve to make a fresh pot of coffee each morning since almost everyone in the compound enjoys it.
"Pour me a mug, would you, Nat?" Y/n calls. Her words are slightly muffled due to the forkful of pancakes she has shoved in her mouth, but the assassin understands her perfectly.
"Of course. Everyone in this compound knows by now that you absolutely refuse to train without first having your morning coffee." Natasha only briefly glances back, but it's enough to allow Y/n to spot the smirk on her lips.
"Hey, I'll have you know, coffee wakes me up and gives me energy!" she indignantly exclaims. She sends a quick glare at Natasha before shoving another forkful of pancakes, this time with strawberries and whipped cream, into her mouth.
Tony rolls his eyes as he snatches a piece of bacon off her plate. "You do realize that's practically the definition of coffee, don't you?" He makes a show of biting the bacon.
Y/n growls as she tosses another piece of bacon at him. "Fuck off, Tony!" Instead of it hitting its mark, Tony catches it. "You've got to be kidding me!"
"Thanks, darling," he winks, causing Y/n to frown.
"Is that bacon I smell?" Clint is the next one to enter the room. He's closely followed by Bruce.
"This looks delicious, Steve," Bruce comments. He rubs his hands together in anticipation as he tries to decide whether to go for the chocolate chip or blueberry pancakes. A sudden crack of thunder in the distance has him jolting and nervously looking out the giant windows. "That's weird. I haven't heard anything about a storm today," he mutters anxiously.
"That's not a regular storm," Y/n answers before taking a huge gulp of chocolate milk. "I was wondering when he'd be back," she smiles.
Tony sighs as the thunder grows closer. "Time to get out the signal," he comments as he glances outside the window.
"Ooh, can I do it?" Y/n excitedly asks. Before Tony can even open his mouth to answer her, she's racing over to the wall. She taps what looks to everyone else like a normal wall. Within seconds of tapping it, a panel of the wall opens up, revealing a lever.
"Since when do the walls have hidden levers?" Bruce wonders. He stares at the device with equal parts suspicion and awe.
"Since the third time Thor broke my beautiful windows," Tony dramatically states. He grins at Y/n as her hand hovers above the device. "Let her rip!" he grins.
