You catched your breath after running for some quite time now. You were no athlete unlike your uncle cody so running this far was something you should be proud of. Perhaps it was the adrenaline in your soul that pumped up your legs to the extreme pushing you forward. The sun was now setting as the beautiful orange hue painted all over the sky. Seeing a wooden bench placed on the sidewalk of the park made you sit down.
Once you flopped unto to the Wooden seat, the recoil of your sprinting kicked in. You felt your legs being electrocuted by a thousand volts yet, there was no possible instrument surrounding you to have felt such thing. Your body was just straight up in pain as the adrenaline had worn off now. You didn't expect the recoil to be this harsh as you couldn't do anything as your entire body was a bit too sore to move.
But the scenary infront of you made up for the pain as it was a picture perfect scene. Too bad your immobile to move yet it gave you time to think about what you have done so far.
If you weren't too fast earlier, many scumbags could have potentially harmed her and the path towards her wasn't easy as well. It was too easy to find and Locate Rei considering how many guys were trailing her from behind. It didn't take a genius that they were after her. But there was something that really snapped you which you also couldn't explain.
Sure, her getting hurt is something you didn't wanna see but the fact that you imagined her crying trying to call out your name just snapped you. And that itself confuses you. You barely knew Rei and her background being a Hobo yet you were being pulled so easily towards her and it's crazy because even Kazuha wasn't like nor Karina.
"Perhaps she's a master of witchcraft that's explain why she's pulling me into doing this."
You thought to yourself as this was the only possible conclusion that has risen from your mind. You weren't much into magic and all that sorcery since every magic you know always has a secret that is easily explained. In this world you were living, there was no such thing as magic, Only human illusion that tricks the mind. But perhaps Rei could be an exception.
"Yeah that must be it! Hehe.."
"Have some water Y/N-Kun."
A stranger at your side handed you a bottle of water as you felt your throat getting dried up from the running. So you took it and took a sip.
"Oh thank you-"
SPLAT
You immediately spit a portion of the water you drank from the bottle into the ground as you coughed. You couldn't fathom that the girl you were trying to run away from sat there next to you, handing you a water as if the distance you ran away from her meant nothing at all.
"W-What are you doing here? How did you find me?"
"Hmm.. Perhaps it was because a lot of people saw a dying man walking aimlessly at the park dehydrated. So I just went here and my guts was right."
She giggled and smiled feeling proud of herself for listening and trusting her guts. Because truth be told, she wasn't really sure when you ran off too. Sure she knows around the city and all the loopholes but to know where you are is a different story. She doesn't know anything much about you just yet so the journey to get there is just starting. Though, with the help of the locals, she managed to locate you.
"I look dehydrated?"
"That's what they said, so I went and bought you a water bottle just in case."
