Same night, Sicily (11:00 pm)

The silence resonated inside the penthouse, a dull darkness surrounding the whole space as well as them due to the revelations. Ariaa breathed deeply, awaiting him to explain himself and the truth in detail. Adheesh, however, was blank with the sudden storm that hit the duo, out of nowhere.

The clock ticked behind them, and Ariaa moved her feet matching the sound looking at Adheesh eagerly. He gulped the lump in his throat when her icy voice cut through the air, "Why did you marry me?"

His heart constricted, not finding the familiar tones of love and adoration in her voice. He answered truthfully, "I didn't mean to marry you, I told you before."

He sat on the bed with his gaze pinned on her, noticing the slight twitch of her eye hearing him. She asked with a scoff, "Right! I sent the proposal for you, practically forced you to marry me. I should change my question then, what were your intentions regarding the alliance with my father?"

Getting up, he moved to her who sat on the sofa and sat on the coffee table in front of it. His hand extended to get a hold of hers, but she moved it back muttering in a cold tone, "Don't you fucking dare touch me."

His blood ran cold hearing the hate, yet he pulled his hand back not wanting to go against her wish. Gulping again, he spoke, "Aapke har sawaal ka jawab denge ham Ria..."

Her gaze landed on him and she spoke in a brisk manner, "The name's Ariaa!"

She could visibly see him flinching after hearing those words, and a saddened haze caused his face to turn dull. With lowered gaze, and shivering hands, he accepted, "Ye sach hai, ki aapki gang ke sath alliance karne ke peeche hamare iraade sahi nahi the. Ariaa, I have told you before that my parents passed away due to an attack on them, it was a planned murder. Those people tried to harm Abhay and kidnapped Aadit, hurt him for days before we found him. But what I didn't tell you was, I found a clue regarding their murderer."

Ariaa frowned looking at him, as he got up and sauntered to the window looking outside with a faraway gaze. She looked at the tiger claw emblem carved in a silver stone and black threads holding it together. Adheesh nodded clearing his throat and crossing his arms on his chest, "Jab security Abhay ko ghar leke aayi vo behosh the. Unhone hame khabar di ki Maa sa, aur baba sa nahi rhe. Ariaa patiently heard the tale, as she was always curious about the death of his parents.
