Author's POV

Evening, Aadit's Haven (5:15 pm)

"Hello husband, missed me?"

Meera's smirking face greeted Aadit's shocked one. The latter blinked his eyes a couple of times, and she tried her hardest to hold back her giggles. In his bewildered state, he questioned her, "What're you doing here?"

Ignoring his question, she looked around and an impressed smile graced her lips. She commented nodding positively, "Great place I must say. You must be enjoying here all 'alone', right?"

She pressed on enjoying and alone a lot more than her other words which confused him. He enquired again, "Meera, I am asking something. What are you doing here? How did you even find this place?"

At his question, she raised a single brow and enclosed the distance between them. Aadit's breath hitched as she stood straight facing him, just miniscule of distance persisting between them which made it hard for him to think clearly. She answered with a taunting smile, "Tumhe kya laga? Tum mujhse chhupke duniya ke kisi kone mein jaake baith jayoge aur main tumhe nahi dhundh paungi? I am no ordinary girl Mr. Aadit Suryavanshi. Tum Atlantic ocean mein bhi hote na, tab bhi tumhe dhundh nikalti. Samjhe!"

Aadit was too shocked to react at her words. Before he could bring a reaction out of himself, the man who helped Meera out of the chopper spoke standing behind her, "Meera ma'am, shall I go back?"

She looked back at the man, while Aadit tilted his head scrutinizing him with a curious and contemplating gaze. He asked sarcastically, "Ab ye bandar kaun hai?"

Meera looked at Aadit, and could see him trying to keep his tone indifferent. With a smirk she replied, "Him? Adheesh bhai sa sent him with me, for my safety. Moreover, I needed company all the way here, he proved to be a good one..."

Aadit's jaw clenched at her last sentence, and unconsciously he threw murderous glances at the man. His possessive instincts were aching to take over, especially when Meera turned around to smile gleefully at the man and stated, "Thanks Manish. It was a nice journey with you. You can leave."

She practically imagined Aadit rolling his eyes from behind her, when Manish bowed slightly before leaving the place. He didn't like her attention on the Manish guy hence spoke with anger evident in his tone, "Since you are here, I am assuming all the people now know about this island and its location? Thanks for publicising something which I wanted to keep a secret."

His words caught her attention and she turned around facing him. She threw back agitated, "Stop assuming things on your own always. Its only me, Adheesh bhai sa and Ariaa bhabhi sa who know the location. Apart from them, the pilot and Manish know, and they too signed a secrecy bond with Bhai sa because he was aware you wanted this place to be hidden."

Aadit relaxed hearing this, but he didn't wish to back down so he said nonchalantly, "Whatever!"

Meera fumed at his indifference, his attitude was making her angry. She spoke with anger in her voice, "Are you seriously going to fight with me, when we are meeting after a week?"

If she was angry, even he was frustrated with everything hence he snapped at her, "Fine, I won't fight if you tell me how you are here all of a sudden?"

On instinct, she shouted back, "I am here because I missed you!"

Aadit froze hearing her, so did Meera, after realising her slip up. She had made up her mind to avenge all her stress which he gave her over the week. But after seeing him, all her emotions had the best out of her and she couldn't help but blurt out the truth. She felt her eyes filling up with tears, and she blinked rapidly to stop them from falling out. Aadit couldn't react, she confessed she missed him and was actually trying to hold herself from crying which reflected upon how she was clearly affected by his absence. The question that perplexed him was why?
