[Before]

Y/N: Alright, if you two are so persistent about this plan, then fine, have it your way! I'm going back to school to inform sensei. *Looks at Riko* Riko, you better put on a convincing performance for your fake death, so don't mess up.

Riko: *Smiling* I won't let you down, onii-chan!

She salutes and winks, striking a pose reminiscent of the cute girl anime trope seen on TV shows. Y/N's face shows disgust at the display, especially since Riko and Kuroi have agreed to stay at his place and are now under his custody. He has adopted Riko as his step-sister, and Kuroi will work as a maid in his household.

Y/N: Eurgh, stop doing that. It's weird and unnecessary. *Sigh* Alright, do you two know what to do? Just to be sure that your plan will work.

Gojo: You don't have to worry about it. Everything is going to be fine~

Geto: We'll make sure the plan works. Have faith in us.

Y/N is unconvinced, but he shrugs it off, as if he's done with their antics.

Y/N: Yeah, sure, whatever.

After that, Gojo, Geto, and Riko go their separate ways, while Y/N and Kuroi head back to school.

Kuroi: Don't worry, Y/N. They'll be fine. Have some faith.

Y/N: *Sigh* You're right. I just hope those two don't cause any trouble.

[After]

As it turned out, their plan had worked all along. However, things had changed after three months. Geto was now walking around the campus, lost in his thoughts. His face appeared pale, and dark lines were visible under his eyes, indicating trouble with sleep. After successfully clearing Riko's bounty head, Geto began to question why humans would want a young high school girl like Riko dead. In his mind, non-sorcerers were seen as inferior, and their motivations disgusted him. However, he pushed those thoughts aside and tried to think rationally. Not all non-sorcerers were bad; some of them had good intentions, right? That's what he believed.

He stopped by a vending machine that offered a variety of soda flavors, took out a coin from his wallet, and inserted it into the machine. After retrieving his favorite soda, he sat alone on a bench, looking down. His thoughts were still troubling him.

Geto: *Murmurs* Yesterday, Haibara went on a mission with Nanami, far away. I just hope they both okay. And Yuki Tsukumo... I met her for the first time. I was surprised by how beautiful she was. Y/N must be lucky. But those questions from her keep bothering me.

"Neither one is how you truly feel. You're not at that stage yet. This part of you despising non-sorcerers, and this part of you rejecting that, are both just possibilities that you're considering. It's up to you to choose which part becomes your true feelings from here on out."

It's a question of which path he needs to choose, but he hasn't decided yet. He sips his soda, trying to relax his mind and alleviate some of his stress.

Y/N: You seem to be troubled. Care to explain it to me?

Y/N's sudden presence surprised Geto, as if he had come out of nowhere without being noticed. Even to this day, Geto hadn't been able to detect his curse energy, which added to his confusion and curiosity about how Y/N managed to do that.

Geto: Geez, you scared the heck out of me. Please don't ever do that again.

Y/N: *Chuckles* Sorry about that, it's a force of habit. Anyway, what's troubling you today? You've been staring down as if you're watching into the abyss.

Geto hesitated in replying to his senior, but he sighed and began to explain everything that had been troubling him up until this day. After the brief explanation, Y/N nodded in understanding. He knew that this would happen to Geto when they cleared Riko's bounty. That's why Y/N had wanted to take care of it, but Gojo and Geto had been persistent, leaving Y/N with no choice but to let them do what they wanted.

Y/N: Hmm, I see. I can fix that.

Geto looked at him with a confused expression.

Geto: Fix what?

Y/N: *Smirking* If you can't choose between both options, why not consider a third option? How does that sound to you?

Now that was a good question from Y/N, making Geto think twice about it as he looked down and sipped his soda. But the question was challenging for him to answer, which led him to seek a hint from Y/N.

Geto: Do you have any hint for that question?

Y/N: *Snickers* Well, it may be hard to find the answer, but you'll get there when you're ready to consider that option. It's not my place to make or force you to choose that option. Everyone has their own path, including me.

Geto: *Looks down* So, I just need to find my own, right?

Y/N: *Nods* Yup. Believe me, it'll work. Alright, here's my hint if you're still struggling with it: When both paths lead you in the same direction, you can choose only one. One path leads you to become a hero, and the other path leads you to become a villain. But that makes you wonder why it's so hard to choose. Then, there's a third path that leads you to become an anti-hero. Why not choose both instead of just one, just like yin and yang? So, does that hint help you?

Geto widened his eyes in surprise upon hearing Y/N's hint.

Geto: So, that means...

Y/N: *Nods* Yes, you can protect innocent non-sorcerers from evil and at the same time offer refuge to curse users away from harmful non-sorcerers. Killing them is a big no-no. It would make you a bad influence and the world would turn against you. Both non-sorcerers and curse users would see you in a negative light. Non-sorcerers would fear you, and curse users would follow your evil deeds, leading to a proliferation of negative energy and an increase in summoned curse spirits. Is that what you want?

Geto had no words to reply. He thought Y/N might be wrong, but everything he said was true, and that was a fact. No wonder Yaga spoke highly of Y/N's words. Geto held a great deal of respect for Y/N. Maybe he was right all along, because there's always a third option.

Geto: *Laughs and jokes* Man, who even taught you to be so good at speeches?

Y/N: *Laughs and shakes his head* I didn't.

They both laugh together, slowly dying down as they look down. Y/N stands up, stretches his body, and gets ready to leave.

Y/N: *Yawns* Well, I think I'm done here. I need to go to the office.

Geto: Let me guess, you've become a new sensei, haven't you?

Y/N: Yup, I need to get used to working with paper files. It's going to be a pain in the ass. Well, I hope you make your choice on your own. See you around, Gloomy guy!

Geto is baffled by Y/N calling him Gloomy.

Geto: Wait, you forgot to answer my question! How were you able to do that curse technique like you did with Riko?

Y/N: *Laughs* Hahaha... Nope, I'm not going to teach you that technique!

Geto shakes his head, looking down. Y/N's words were able to break through and shatter all the troubling questions in his mind, which instantly disappeared. His body feels relaxed, his breathing becomes steady, and his vision becomes clear.

Geto: *Yawns* I need to get some sleep...
